Record Labels Increase CD Prices To Bands
TuneLab Music reports: Touring just got a little harder for bands who depend on merch sales as their main source of income. Labels have increased the price of the CD’s that bands buy back from the label to sell at concerts. In some cases the amount is only 50 cents, but even that adds up. Roadrunner however has increased their buy back price to $12.00 meaning their artists would likely have to sell CD’s for $15.

Everyone would make so much more if they sold those disks for dirt-cheap.
I was tempted to buy a couple disks at the last show I saw but they were too steep. I wanted to down at least 3 shots and that doesn't come cheap either. Booze will win out for me 9 times out of 10 when I'm at show.
If I could have picked one of those cds up for 8-9 bucks I'd have been a little bit less blitzed but I'd have something longterm to enjoy.
The music industry will be a semi-flat, fly covered, sun-warmed, highway deer carcass soon if they keep screwing the talent and the fans.
