Satyricon Drummer Breaks Leg

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have issued the following update:

"It is with deep regret we have to inform you that Frost (drums) broke his leg yesterday morning. As a result of this, our headlining performance at Arnhem Metal Meeting has been cancelled. It was a freak accident where he simply slipped on ice and snow covered surface, fell to the ground with his foot in a twisted position, and broke it. This was obviously very bad news given our scheduled show at Arnhem Metal Meeting this coming Saturday (December 1st). However, with Frost's history of actually playing ten shows in a row on our European Tour in 2003 with a broken foot, we were hoping he could pull this one off as well. Doctors said last night they wanted to keep him at the hospital over night for observation and we agreed on making a decision as to whether he could do the show, today. Unfortunately we have been informed today that his brake is so complicated that it needs surgery which will take place shortly. They intend to keep him hospitalized for at least one week. Perhaps two.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes to our fans and the festival. As Satyricon is also in the midst of rehearsing a new album, we will to have take an unwanted break from that. We will reorganize and put our attention into other parts of the album-making process to ensure no delays. Have a great festival and join us in wishing Frost a speedy recovery."

My heart totally "sunk" to a deep low yesterday evening when I found out (through another esteem Metal news 'site) about Frost unfortunate accident of braking his leg from slipping in the icey snow. I'm sorrowful that this terrible incident happened to our Frost and I'm hoping & praying that such an accomplished "busy" Trailblazer Viking like our Drummer Kjetil/Frost will get the proper healing/Doctoring he so needs as he goes through this surgery to mead/correct the damage to his leg (which leg was broken through the fall? It was not mentioned.) so that his whole Soul being can be will at ease once again. Frost listern to your music Collegues Satyr, etc.,. & your Doctors when they tell you to slow down some don't rush it 'cause you may reinjure yourself. I know you Toured with a broken foot before (so mentioned above/and read it sometime back in one of your vintage Interviews) Frost and as much as I know that you and your other music Collegues wanted to be present for the fans at this special Concert Event that SATYRICON was to headline (at the Arnhem Metal Meeting) I'm glad to know that it was cancelled so "you" could heal & rest up properly from this terrible accident. Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery, Kjetil/Frost your an amazing musician & person with a Heart of lovely black diamonds: we "love" you & get better. Peace & God Bless.
