"some music was meant to stay underground..."

The Crown have written songs and are rehearsing, despite the fact they have yet to find a new vocalist

Swedish thrashers The Crown are not letting the fact that they have yet to secure a permanent replacement for frontman Tomas Lindberg get in the way of the songwriting process for the group's next studio album, guitarist Marko Tervonen has revealed via the group's official web site.

"[Bassist] Magnus [Olsfelt] has probably around 10 new songs ready and we have actually started rehearsing 2-3 of them," Tervonen wrote. "It really doesn't matter who will do the vocals in the future, The Crown sound will remain as long as the four of us take care of the music. I mean, we pretty much wrote and rehearsed the whole Crowned In Terror album without a vocalist. We know how to take care of business!!"

At the moment, The Crown are rehearsing for their upcoming appearance at the Party San Open festival, which is scheduled to take place in Bad Berka, Germany on August 8-10. As was the case with the band's performance Finland's Tuska 2002 festival two weeks ago, The Crown will be utilizing the services of original vocalist Johan Lindstrand during the gig, but will likely secure a new frontman for future live activities.

"We just might have a future live vocalist ready," Tervonen hinted in his message, before quickly adding that "it's not Johan."
