New Bury Your Dead Singer Leaves Band
Lambgoat reports that they received an email stating that Bury Your Dead singer Michael Crafter has left the band. This information has yet to be confirmed, but here's a statement attributed to Crafter:
"Since I got to the USA I knew I had a lot of weight on my shoulders. I wanted to prove myself so much and be a good frontman for BYD. It’s been 2 months since I got to the USA and all I have wanted is to be home with my friends and this stops me from giving my all. I met a lot of great people here. My time with the band was short and was a lot of fun and a great experience. Eric, Bubble, Slim and Mark became my new mates and I'll forever be grateful I was given this chance. This tour has opened my eyes up to a lot of things and being in a band in another country isn’t what I want to do. From practicing and playing shows with BYD will always be a great memory and something I’m glad I gave a shot. But my home is Australia and home is where the heart is. Thanks again."

What's sad about these lead singers is that when they leave like this, it kinda takes away from the band's credibility. Like when Dave from Drowning Pool died, and they did two more albums with a different lead singer on both of them? Adema and Soil did the same thing. I feel sorry for the bands for making iffy decisions, but I also feel sorry for the fans of these bands because a frontman is a frontman for a reason. And once you climb on board, jumping off before you've even left harbor is a pretty big b1tch move. I'm not the biggest fan of BYD by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't hate their music. I hope they find a PERMANENT replacement and get back on their feet asap.
Wow, for once I'm not being scathingly hateful. Everyone mark your calendars.

i really liked Bury Your Dead when Matt was still with the band, he had a very unique CD voice, but sad to say when i saw them with Killswitch and Hatebreed he seemed like he couldn't keep up with his own sh**. constantly missing lyrics and running out of breath all the time, that's how he sounded to me, so i won't lie say and say that i was excited yet skeptical when i heard that they got a new vocalist, i thought maybe it would be a chance for improvement, but apparently when you don't understand the concept of vacation when your band is taking some down time, you turn into a pu$sy who can't control his emotions and dispel your need to be a mama's boy. take your nutless sack, mike, and go back to australia and leave the metal making to people who can handle it. fu(king pu$sy.

I hope he left because he saw what s.o.b.'s these guys are. When they played Spartanburg, SC, the guitarist hit an 18-year old, 155 lb. kid in the back of the head with a tire jack. The kid fell to the ground and was hit again in the back of the head. He then rolled over and was hit on the front of the head with this five-pound hunk of metal. The kid had to go to the hospital and receive a little over 200 stitches. All the kid did to "deserve" this was to check on another kid that the band was beating up. Unfortunately, the cops aren't doing much but I think the guitarist should go to jail for attempted murder. Bury Your Dead... yeah... what a bunch of "tough" guys.

So, Robbie...do you ALWAYS make sh1t up or is this just a one-time thing? I just thought I'd ask, since, from the information you've compiled, it looks like you interviewed both parties before and after the fight, weighed the weapons and the kid that got beat up, and followed the "victim" to the hospital and counted his stitches. Unless you know the guy, and then you would've helped, right? Jesus, people are idiots.

i agree with 15. 14, you should get your bullsh1t straight.you know what i think? i think you got your a$$ beat for being an anal inviting b**** boy and wanted people to feel sorry for you, so you made up a "decpetive" self soothing lie about the band whose concert you happened to be walking by because we all know that you can't hold your own in the pit of barney on ice. fu(king pathological liars...

It's a fact that the guitarist from bury your dead assaulted a kid with a jack , the kid was way smaller and just taking up for someone else getting jumped by way bigger people . 2 kids under 160 lbs got beat up by two 250 plus lb guys , 5 witnesses and police statements were given . The guy got id'ed off of a pic on the internet , one witness just got the guy to sign his shirt , so he knew exactly who he is , as well as a girl thats dating a band member id'ed him as well as the attacker . 200 stitches in a kids head , sometimes your rock heroes can be pricks .The reason I say fact is that people on both sides and nuetral witnesses all said the same thing . The jack was laying on the ground ,its a scissor jack that is in many cars worldwide . So yes we talked to both sides and yes a lab technician picked up the jack and guessed its weight , he weights stuff all day on his job . So 5 sober witnesses , 2 actually associated with the bands ,good enough for me to say fact

Some of us grew up in a time that hardcore was synonymous with respect . You respected each others space and rights , beat down bullies or a$sholes that started fights for no reason .The music had a message and no one had to prove he was a tough guy .Its a sad state of music when idiot fans applaud and praise someone for bashing a kid . The kid could have gotten b**** slapped if he did something wrong , thats what a real man would have done . You kids are losing venues left and right for "hardcore" shows , people are tired of the jackas$es gang mentality of alot of the disrespectful fans and bands involved . Its a shame that alot of good bands , kids and venues are getting punished because of some ignorant people .You guys are so quick to judge the singer for quitting , when you have no idea what all he has seen. He saw a fan almost get killed by a guy in his own band and then had to lie about it . I applaud him for his actions . I wish more people involved would stand up for whats right , not just call someone a hip cussword .I WAS THERE , ROBBIE WAS THERE , several others were there as well . We just walked up too late and saw the aftermath . Its a shame that you "fans" are so quick to take up for a guy who permanently blinded another smaller guy and served a little time for it and now this guy almost killed an innocent kid hitting him from behind with a jack twice , once in the front .None of this is soothing to any of the adults involved in all this crap , some of us are tired of fake a$$ tough guys and the mentality of these idiots . Real people who have to fight for their lives all the time to do not get erect over seeing others get hurt senselessy , they get disgusted with it .
