Video Report: What’s The Big Deal With Heavy Metal?

Band Photo: Slayer (?)
New Zealand's TV3 News has issued the following:
"Heavy metal music is David Farrier’s favourite hobby at the moment, after stumbling across an old SLAYER album several months ago.
With so many metal acts heading to New Zealand recently, he decided to talk to the biggest names in the biz – and some of the fans – to find out what all the fuss is about."

I'm from NZ, and TV3 news is pretty much tripe now - they continually inflame situations in NZ using their bullsh** to bend the perception of the middle class.
Anyway, which they'd interviewed me for this I would have done metal fans proud.

No kiddin' ..."at the moment"....I have been listening to Heavy Metal since 1983.
I hate to 'hate" on one of the top selling , best metal bands of all time, but instead of Slayer, listen to any post 1990 Metallica or Megadeth "Rust in Peace" (even some mid 90's Pantera) and it will sound the dumbeat of the metal god's within your soul...freeing your mind from any opression or injustice you may face.
MAY THE GODS OF METAL LIVE IN IMMORTALITY

Oh yeah Oz, they ruin it here in the US aswell. My band often gets stuck with metalcore/scenecore acts whose fans do nothing but hardcore dance and 2 step. I think in the past year there's only been three national shows I can count that only metalheads showed up for: Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, and God Forbid.

This video is bullsh**, all the fans they interviewed made metal seem exactly what the stereotype is.
good metal takes a skill level that few people have to play, it is very technical and in most cases very fast not just anyone can do it.
When i compare a metal video with pretty much any other mainstream music video i just laugh most mainstream music is just one simple drum beat with a very basic guitar riff over it and clean vocals, however when you watch metal musicians, the drums and the guitars are just insane, lots of different techniques being used, tempo changes etc...
metal is where the talent is at and you either are metal or you're not, it's not as hobby.
Now playing- You're better off dead-children of bodom

How is it that they always pick the biggest idiots to interview for these things. Including the guys from Mastedon! They didn't really speak in a complete sentence during that interview did they? Not that I am judging their tunes. I don't want to get flamed as a Mastedon hater.
