Judas Priest to release DVD on July 23rd
Judas Priest - Live In London DVD Slated For July 23rd Release Via SPV! Heavy Metal Icons Embark On Summer Tour!
Hard music enthusiasts, prepare your eyes and ears for the ultimate DVD home video documenting one of the genre's true pioneers, Judas Priest! Live In London was recorded at the Brixton Academy in December of 2001 during the band's critically lauded Demolition World Tour. This first (and only) band-approved DVD is released on July 23rd through SPV.
Live In London authenticates why Judas Priest are monikered "Metal Gods", as the band is displayed in prime form in a scene they helped create! Presented in widescreen format to replicate the best possible view, the DVD's complete 90+ minute set is offered in optional Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and Dolby Digital 2.0 to further enhance the live feel of the concert.
The UK's Classic Rock Magazine confirms the London performance as among Priest's finest: "A religious experience from 'Metal Gods' to 'Hell Bent For Leather'. Tonight will soon be available on DVD. Beg, borrow, or steal a copy, because if it comes even close to capturing the atmosphere and performance in the flesh, it'll be a classic. Gig of the year, I reckon."
Judas Priest recounts the performance quite candidly: "Tremendous band; tremendous show; tremendous audience! 2 ½ hours of ultimate heavy metal bliss from the world's greatest heavy metal band!!!"
Special features for Live In London include behind-the-scenes interviews & rare footage, as well as a full 25-minute soundcheck performance, which spotlights new & vintage material including: 'Desert Plains', 'Running Wild', 'Turbo Lover', 'The Sentinel', 'Machine Man', and 'Lost And Found'. 3 of these songs are exclusive to the soundcheck and not performed during the concert!
The bombastic, career-spanning set list for Live In London exemplifies Judas Priest's legendary status, and features tracks the band has not performed live in many years. The set list includes:
Metal Gods, Diamonds And Rust, Turbo Lover, Touch Of Evil, Feed On Me, Painkiller, Bloodstained, Burn In Hell, Electric Eye, Victim Of Changes, Hell Is Home, United, One On One, Breaking The Law, Living After Midnight, Running Wild, Desert Plains, Hell Bent For Leather, The Ripper
