Incubus Celebrate #1 Album Debut By Re-Enacting "Riverdance"

MTV.com has a lighhearted talk with Incubus talking about their recent #1 album "Light Grenades," the process of writing the album and more. Here's an excerpt:

"Our last two records [2004's A Crow Left of the Murder and 2001's Morning View] debuted at #2 and we were ecstatic about that," Boyd elaborated. "But then we were at rehearsal the other day trying to get good at playing the new songs, and we all got a simultaneous e-mail saying that our record debuted at #1, and we all looked at each other kind of suspicious like ... someone's messing with us. And then we did a little 'Riverdance' thing together, where we like kicked our heels together in a circle, and then there was that moment of uncomfortable silence like, 'That was really lame, what we just did."

These guys need to stop making music for 15 year old bleeding vaginas and go back to playing the funked up crazy stuff that they used to play.

That's fairly strange...I just wish these guys would back away from the formula of the last few records and go back to the type of thing like "Make Yourself". None of the records after that were cohesive. They all have a few GREAT songs, but they aren't hole records. Personally I don't want to hear them try to be Primus again, but the new records are pretty spotty...

Do tell, RM... One would think that with the holiday season, reviews would be the one place that would see an increase in activity. Bands and labels pushing to rush new music and music dvds out for holiday shoppers, ya know. Plenty of review fodder. Guess not, though. Interesting.

Mostly the staff being swamped with the holidays.

News is in infact more sparse unless someones pimping a new release. Bands and labels have less to say when they're at home eating turkey. New material to review is abundant but time to dedicate to listening, writting and posting said reviews is short.

Thats the problem on my end anyway.
