In conjunction with the Hammerslag Vinterblot 2006 sponsorship, I sent over some questions for Norwegian doom/extreme metal band Malsain by email. Malsain's drummer, Phobos, sent some brief replies:

deathbringer: Your website shows your latest full-length, "The Disease," was to be released this fall. Has that album been released? If so, how has it been received? Is it available in the US as well?

Phobos: No, the release date of the upcoming album is not set, but I will guess January/February. And yes it will be available in the US.

deathbringer: Are you looking forward to playing the Hammerslag Vinterblot Festival?

Phobos: Yes.

deathbringer: What is the biggest tour or festival you've played?

Phobos: Lost weekend 2004 and Hole In The Sky 2005.

deathbringer: How did you get into metal and when did you decide you wanted to be a musician yourself?

Phobos: I got into metal after listening too Iron maiden, then i also wanted to become a metal musician.

deathbringer: If you could tour with anyone, who would you tour with?

Phobos: Hehe. Iron maiden

deathbringer: Do you have any shows other than Hammerslag planned right now?

Phobos: Yes we will play two conserts in Bergen after the disease is released.

deathbringer: What are your immediate plans after playing the Hammerslag Vinterblot Fest?

Phobos: Drink beer and Have fun.
