Slayer Announce Winter Headlining North American Tour

Slayer will hit the road on January 24 for a four-week North American tour. The dates are in support of the band's latest album, "Christ Illusion," this lineup's first new studio album since 1990's "Seasons In The Abyss," and its highest-charting album ever (#5 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart). Unearth will open all shows.
"Over the past few months, we've had a great time headlining 'Unholy Alliance' in North America and Europe, bringing a killer five-act bill to the fans," said Slayer's King. "But we're looking forward to this next tour, where it's just Slayer and Unearthed, playing venues where we can be right in the fans' faces."
These North American dates come on the heels of Slayer's successful international tour which, between August and November, took the band to SRO shows in the UK, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Singapore, Japan, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Denmark and Sweden. While in Germany, the band paid a special visit to the U.S. Troops of the 52nd Services Squadron located on the Spangdahlem U.S. Air Force Base.

exactly dude. There are a bunch of big venues here in Chicago. I'm surprised for Milwaukee they wouldn't at least go to the Rave or something. I actually did message Century Media before about it. Not about this of course. lol They said that it's all the booking agents jobs and the labels and bands don't have anything to do with it.

GOTD- to piggyback on what diciple said- Bob Larson (I'm sure you've heard of him) actually went on tour with Slayer in the '80s and found out that they really only say the stuff they do (Except Kerry, he does think all religion is BS) to get a rise out of "Christians" who have nothing better to do. I accepted Christ a long time ago, and I've been a metalhead even longer. Slayer, Manson, even Alice Cooper used the shock value of the lyrics and the stage show to get attention. Marilyn Manson once said "The Christian church is the best friend I ever had. They're the reason I sell as many records as I do." And it's true. Controversy and people picketing gets attention and sells records. Period.
