Tool And Muse To Headline Big Day Out 2007

Band Photo: Tool (?)
The tour we've all been gossiping about for years has finally been confirmed. Tool has announced that they will headline next years Big Day Out Festival. For once the rumours seemed somewhat justified this year when the band played an extremely minimal amount of shows in Australia and New Zealand in support of their newest album 10,000 Days, despite staggeringly high record sales, nation-wide. Tool, along with Muse, will be headlining the Big Day Out 2007 Festival, which will also showcase the following outfits:
Violent Femmes
The Killers
Peaches
My Chemical Romance
Spank Rock
Jet
Eskimo Joe
Scribe
Evermore
The Sleepy Jackson (Aus only)
The Herd (Aus only)
The Spazzys (Aus only)
The Veils (NZ only)
Shapeshifter (NZ only)
The Mint Chicks (NZ only)
The Tutts (NZ only)
Minuit (NZ only)

Ha I know im gonna start somthing massive now but i'd just like say Im in Aus and cant wait to see tool they are a phenomenal band and anyone who cant appreciate them is missing out on truly original music they are quite possibly one of the most unique sounding bands out there all other music is all based on elements of the genres originality but tool seem to be the only ones actually creating something new....now go on have your b**** lol

post 2,3 could maybe elaborate on why "totally, tool sucks horse d***" b/c last time i checked tool was one of the best bands in the history of heavy music. i dont know of any other band that is absolutely mainstream, yet so well respected in the underground. they are not rock stars by any means. they make music for all the right reasons, and have influenced countless bands in the underground. anyway, they absolutely do not suck horse d*** but if you can give me a reason why you feel that way i might better understand your posts. otherwise i would think your just ignorant a$$holes posting for a reaction.

"wise Man" eh, now that's a contradiction!! Right on metalmayhem!! If people are going to give ignorant comments they should at least also give ignorant reasons for those comments. I've been listening to Tool for years and they are one of the only "true" rock bands out there. And as for all the ignorant people out there, go eat a bag o' d****!!!

lol, slayerdisciple, that would iritate me like nothing else. Me and my best mate have grown up listening to the same type of music, loved the same bands and all that. We both have a healthy appreciation for Tool's music, but for different reasons. Somehow he likes them because he finds them great to fall asleep to (he's not jokingly saying they're so sh** they put him to sleep, he's dead serious about loving the music for that quality). Unfortunately we no longer really see eye-to-eye, musically; he's getting into nu-metal and rock outfits, while I'm moving more towards other branches of metal. Mostly black, thrash and metalcore, but with an ear for anything experimental/different, too. It's kind of frustrating because I've been sharing my music with him for years, but these days I'll tell him about a rad band and he'll be like "whatever. have you listened to the new stonesour yet?"

slayerdisciple- isnt that just the way of the mainstream.
metal is about being an individual, mainstream is about being like everybody else.
im a big fan of tool, but one thing that pisses me off is people who call others ignorant just because they dont like tool or dont "get" their music. tool is different and because of that wont be appreciated by everyone (posts 2-4 is pretty ignorant). it took me a long time to get into tool. i used to hate them, but i found myself liking them after i learned to play guitar. the more i listen too them the more i like them. and the fact that they put on killer shows.

TOOL is cool, unless your a fool. The haters on this post-board only hate TOOL because they never understood their music and never seen their performances LIVE. It is absolutely breathtaking. Too bad you haters can't see them again, because early 2007 is THE LAST time they are going on tour... Glad I saw the TOOLband this year in Pittsburgh... it was awesome.

TOOL IS THE BEST ARTISTIC ROCK BAND EVER.....YOU GUYS HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT. TOOL IS NOT THE CLASSIC METAL BAND, THEY ARE SOMETHING BEYOND IT. IT IS THE COMPLETE EVOLUTION OF THE METAL ITSELF BECOMING ART....THEIR MUSIC IS NOT FROM THIS PLANET. USE YOUR THIRD EYE AND YOU´LL REALIZE THAT

I f***in love Tool! Poster 8 is ABSOLUTELY right! Most of the people who hate tool are too damn ignorant and STUPID to get their music. Tool actually has talent. and u know wat ive noticed on here? For every single band, there are people who criticize and take them down. Just remember, if u like a band and u see comments like, "theyre a bunch of f***in p*ssies", dont let those dumb f***s decide what music u like.

I almost don't want to believe this in case I get let down (AGAIN!) - Tool headlining BDO gets rumoured about every single freakin year! S'pose it had to happen sooner or later, hahah.
