"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Sevendust Plan End Of Year Tour Dates

Sevendust has lined up five shows, beginning Dec. 27 in Norfolk, VA, and ending New Year's Eve in Tampa, FL. Two other Florida stops and a lone South Carolina show round out the itinerary, which is included below.

On Thursday, September 28, Sevendust finished recording its yet-untitled sixth album, according to a message posted at its website, which went on to say that the songs will be shipped to Sterling Sound in New York for mastering with a new record-label partner to be named shortly.

The forthcoming disc, for which no release date has been announced, will follow last October's "Next," Sevendust's first--and apparently only--release for indie label WineDark, with whom the group signed after parting with TVT Records. Earlier this year, the group announced that it had already split with WineDark, but would maintain control of its wholly owned record label 7 Bros. Records, an imprint the group founded as part of its deal with WineDark.

The announcement came not long after drummer Morgan Rose told LiveDaily that he was displeased with WineDark's marketing efforts behind "Next."

"I'm right on the edge of unloading on everybody that we're dealing with now ...," Rose said during an interview. "There's a lot of stuff going on that we're having a lot of trouble with, that I won't get into and I won't make a big deal out of. But I can tell you: in the very near future, if stuff doesn't get fixed, there's going to be a lot to talk about.

"Next" features the cuts "Ugly" and "Pieces," both of which are streaming at Sevendust's official website. The disc peaked at No. 20 on The Billboard 200; it's 2003 predecessor, "Seasons," reached No. 14.

Sevendust tour dates:

December 2006
27 - Norfolk, VA - The Norva
28 - Myrtle Beach, SC - House of Blues
29 - Orlando, FL - House of Blues
30 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Revolution
31 - Tampa, FL - Jannus Landing

One of the only bands from the nu-metal compost heap that actually emerged relatively clean (Mudvayne and to a lesser extent Slipknot and Soad....all of whoms most recent albums were a little less impressive).
Sevendust is one hell of a live act though, I hope the new disk is a step above Next, it wasn't bad but it didn't compare to any of the bands previous disks.

Yeah, but the only problem I have is that on every single one of their CD's I always find certain ones that I like and then just don't like the rest of the CD. But live it doesn't even matter what they play. They dominate live!

I'm a fan of "Home" and "Animosity" overall. I think "Seasons" was great if a bit poppy and self title was very dark and gritty, good stuff.

"Next" is my least favorite offering from them but considering the album came when they had lost a principal songwritter at the time I can understand the shortcomings.

I agree with post 2. These guys were supposed to play a show with Soil but Vinny (their bassist) broke a bone in his hand. I too am still waiting fot that make up date. But you know all their cds rock. Seasons was a bit more melodic than the other ones but they came back with next and blew it away. I cant wait for their next offering. It should be badass. They definately need to come back to Chicago. They havent been here in a while. And by the way Morgan Rose is a better drummer than most other rejects.
