Arcane Have Lost Long-Time Bassist, Shirley
Prog-metallers Arcane and their long-time bassist, Shirley, have gone their seperate ways. Whilst the Brisbane-based band has yet to issue any comments, Shirley has thanked all those that have supported him throughout his career with Arcane, saying
"I just want to thank everyone who has ever come out and seen me, and especially rto [sic] anyone who has enjoyed Desolace in particular which is a song that has meant so much to me. That song is yours now. It's something that I want you to sing along to everytime you hear it, and when you do, spare a thought for your old Uncle Shirley."
Also forth-coming from the ex-Arcane bassist was some advice and encouragement for his fans; "Support your local scene. I can't tell you the feeling I get when I see all your smiling faces, heads banging and singing along to our words. We have so much talent in this town alone...You give them an energy, a purpose, a reason to be more than who they are."

It will be difficult in the months to come for both Shirl and Arcane, but he will no doubt continue to dazzle us with his bass chops and Arcane are still Arcane. There is a statement from them on their MySpace, http://www.myspace.com/arcaneaustralia.
Good luck to all of you
