Incubus Prepare Album For Fall Release
Art-rockers/metallers Incubus, who have been hard at work on their fifth album, announced in May that they had 10 songs completed with plans to write six or seven more. Two months later, guitarist Mike Einziger says the followup to 2004's 'A Crow Left of the Murder' will be released this fall.
"I promise that it will rock your balls off," he wrote on the band's Web site.
Among the likely cuts are 'Earth to Bella,' which singer Brandon Boyd said would feature two movements, and 'Love Hurts.' The band has debuted both tracks during at recent live shows.
Incubus will pay tribute to the Pretenders in the next segment of VH1's 'Decades Rock Live,' alongside Kings of Leon, Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson and Iggy Pop. The show will be taped Aug. 11 in Atlantic City.

Incubus WAS a great band, but they've lost a lot of their anger from back in the days of Science and earlier recordings. They moved away from metal and towards pop. Nevertheless, I still enjoy their albums when I feel like chilling out quietly, or falling asleep. Definitely one of the better pop (or at least, heavily pop influenced, I'd say) rock outfits. ACLOTM was their weakest to-date release, IMO.

yes they're from cali. so they've grown out of that scream-o sh** so what? that sucks anyways. you've got to understand that they've grown out of writing songs about "smokin' the herb" and actually written about sh** they care about. so before you knock it take that into consideration.

You may not like Incubus, but if you are truely into music you would appreciate that they are good song writers, Brandon has a good vocal range and the instrumental value of their music is very high quality. They started out as a bunch of kids making records, fresh out of high school,(which,by the way, S.CI.E.N.CE. was their best album along with Fungus Amongus) and almost a decade later are still selling to their older fans as well as a new crowd of kids...you have to give them that much and recognize them as respectable musicians.

f*** all of you who don't understand the complexity of the song-writing of frontman brandon boyd. his lyrics are some of the most poetic that i've ever heard and at times they can be downright intense. so i can firmly make the statement that everyone who doesn't "understand" incubus has the IQ of a damn rock.

The great thing about Incubus is that they are not afraid to create music outside the proverbial box. They are never what's "in" or afraid to be different than what's popular. Show me two Incubus albums that sound anything alike. They morph, grow and change with the stages in thier lives and thier music comes from an honest place. These guys are artists and it totally comes through in thier music. A true music lover would appreciate them for what they are as an individual band and not compare them to others. For anyone who doubts thier artistry, check out a live show.
