New Slipknot DVD Pushed Back To 2007

Although Roadrunner Records set an October 31 release date for the new SLIPKNOT DVD, it has had to be delayed until 2007.
The follow-up to 2002's "Disasterpieces" is "going to be different than our last one," guitarist Mick Thomson told Billboard.com last month. "Our last one mostly focused on the concert, and this one is going to have a lot more personal stuff on it. You get to see more stupid sh*t [laughs]. There'll be some music and stuff, but you're getting to see what our days our like. It should be a lot more fun."
Speaking about his favorite scene in the upcoming DVD, Thomson said, "A fan, I think in Austria, was drunk and out of line. He kept trying to come up on the bus, kept bothering people and then started to get a little bit loud and threatening. He had to be set down on his ass by someone close to us. Sometimes you've got to be put in your place, and he was put in his place."
SLIPKNOT is expected to begin writing material for its fourth studio effort later this year.
"We're going to start getting back together and working on stuff," Thomson told Billboard.com. "The core that writes the songs tend to get together — it's not as easy to work out stuff when you've got nine people standing in the same room. I would say we'll start working within the next few months. I've talked to [SLIPKNOT bassist] Paul [Gray] a few times. Very slowly, no pressure."

things that have not been said:to JT"a clown short of destiny" isnt about slipknot,so dont get too excited about the slipknot sh**. also, there is so many other bands that kill their local metal scene, why make such a big deal about slipknots?to death metal head 13:you have no f***in right to talk sh**. I f***ING GARENTEE if some band you liked said"sometimes you get put in your place, and he got put in his place"? youd be all hell yea teach that f***er a lesson! they cant write sh**? corey is one of the best poets in the metal scene to this day. joey is a excellent drummer. sid is one of the best DJs out there today. both jim and mick are skilled guitarists, slipknot is not a band for them to show off unfortunatly. I have heard mick play slayer and deciede and cannibal corpse,sh** like that and he did it perfectly. stop being a f***in kid and open your mind to more sh** a$$hole

I think they could get rid of the dj and the side percussionists and still have a soild band. The only thing the dj is there for is effects, and the side pecussion a lot of the time gets buried under the guitars and Joey. I personally think if they got a keys player he/she could do far more than a dj ever could, and could add to the eerie elements of the band. They are one of the few really popular newer metal bands that I like, and Mick, Jim, and Joey actually do have a good degree of talent, even if it isn't fully displayed in what they have previously released.

I am aware that the film is not about Slipknot...it's about another local band out of Iowa...who were impacted by a lot of things along the way...including being stabbed in the back by Slipknot. It has garnered much acclaim through its showings at the indie film festivals...and so I look forward to it just as a fan of good films. But don't try to downplay the element of Slipknot in that film...they play no small part in it. And the reason it is a bigger deal that they destroyed their home scene rather than all the other bands that have done the same thing...it's because they are a huge band...that's right...they are immense...so just because of that...their impact on a local scene is more newsworthy.
By the way...I am not saying I hate Slipknot music...I have all their records. This film might make me not want to buy any more...but I think there is good musicianship in that band...and they can put on a hell of a live show as well. Anyway...those are my thoughts.

not to sound like a total d***, but i do have to say that slipknot is in fact not what most people think....Anyone hear of a band called mushroomhead? They deserve the credit for what slipknot is. Mushroomhead started in 1990 and Slipknot started a long time ago somewhere around 1994 i think as a nine inch nails type band...until mushroomhead turned down roadrunners offer because they were making more money doing the business themselves...and slipknot was roadrunners answer to mushroomheads refusal. Think about it this way....mushroomheads bass player is pig benis.....and what type of animal is the slipknot bass player?

im not saying i have a problem with slipknot.....what i have a problem with is.....you have to understand that there are many hardcore slipknot fans out there who idolize them like they are the first of their kind. I mean to be honest i cant say much about slipknot....i really dont know whos good in that band and whos not. I saw them live about a year ago and there was just way to much confusion on that stage......i mean the only thing i really saw clown doing was hitting a keg with a bassball bat....and the dude with the long nose....well im still not sure what he does. To me, its shock rock. I dont listen to mainstream music. I love metal just as much as the next person but u have to understand that their is going to be crap talking with any mainstream "metal" band.

to respond to "thedrunkenmonkey":
I understamd where you are commin from bout the whole slipknot/mushroomhead thing,i really do. me being a hardcore maggot and a huge fan of mushrom head,i feel i should get a few things straight.
Slipknot officially started in 1991 as a death metal band but do to complications they had to break up. slipknot then rejoined in 93 and recorded new songs.shawn then came in with the clown mask and the idea had caught on.NOTE:neither mushroomhead nor slipnot have heard of eachother beforehand.the fact about pig benis and paul having a pig mask and both being bassist IS a HUGE coincidence, that is all it is.paul himself said he had no idea of the fact about it,thats why he chenged from the pig thing and more of a hannibal-lecter pig=like thing The rumer about slipknot answerig to mushroomhead denial of roadrunner is a interesting rumor. the fact is,both bands submitted demos AROUND the same time.mushroomheads demo was above slipknots in the "stack"of demos.mushroomhead said no,so they kept going through the stack and eventually came to slipknots.mushroomhead has 8 members, slipknot 9. mushroomhead origanally decieded on gathering 8 talented people and starting a band. slipknot had no idea about having 9 memebers. one of their replacment guitarists became samples/keyboardist.thus left them to start to find anouther guitarist. they then found one,but again he became somthing else and became percussion with shawn(NOTE:this was cuddles, not the percussionist they have now now-chris fehn) so agian had to find another guitarist. long story short they found jim&corey to replace 2 exsisting members. DJ sid wilson saw them live and he knew he HAD to be in the band,so he did get in. for awhile slipknot had 10 members, but anders decieded to frop out last minuetedoes mushroomhead owe anything to slipknot?no. does slipknot owe anything to mushroomhead?no. if you goto a slipknot show, then a mushroomhead show, you will see they are very different in themselves. though mushroomheads shows are chaotics, but more controlled. slipknots are more chaotic and at times can become dangerous(kinda interesting for those that say slipknot and their live shows suck:P)
all in all i am just stating facts.im not looking for a fight with you or anyone at the moment.im just stating facts that you and maybe others do not know:)

no, dont get me wrong i like both bands also....even jeffery nothing said that most people who like slipknot also like mushroomhead, and the fans understand that they are in fact two complete different bands...and as far as it all being coincidence then we can just agree to disagree....im not dogging slipknot as far as copying goes, nor do i really think mushroomhead deserves that much credit....cause lets be honest, if any one deserves credit for the whole hiding the face thing then hell give it to kiss. My point that im making is that i dont understand how anyone can idolize people. Im not saying slipknot even sucks live.....it was too much chaos.....and not just cause of the nine people, i also saw them in an arena, so the acoustics were horrible. And when i saw mushroomhead it was in a small venue so it was a more controlled environment. Im a musician myself and when i go to a concert im one of those people who stand in the back "watching". I like to absorb everything thats going on...the main reason i do that is to learn from the bands, and i will give it to slipknot, they throw a hell of a show. So please dont think im a slipknot hater, i just hated subliminal verses. I personally liked iowa the best. And its mainly from the way the recording was done on subliminal verses that i dont like it. I criticize everything and anything.....its not derogitory even though i know it can come out sounding that way.

Post 22-24 was great. I laughed.
Anyway. Yeah Slipknots last album was a do or die sellout or fold album...They soldout and the album sold well, so "the knot" haven't broken up.
I'll admit to liking a handful of this bands songs (5 or 6 to date, only one is a single) for the fact that it is glossy, mostly straightforward, catchy sometimes actually heavy stuff.
Do I dig the lyrics, masks or the psychotic ignorance of most of the bands fans?
No.
But the drummer -is- fantastic and some of their sh** strikes the perfect balance between catchy and heavy.
Junkfood metal. Good in small doses, bad for your brain and bowels if overdoesing.

I like SlipKnot.Key word like not love.Somebody keep me posted on the quality of the DVD I may pick it up.On that note I'd like to say.I don't know much about MushRoomHead(although I did see them live ounce...liked what I saw & herd).I did hear a song or two.Nothing I did'nt like mind you but I don't know much about them.On the other hand I'm a much bigger fan of MudVaine.

Corey is probably in the top 3 most talented vocalists alive. You hear him scream, rap/scream, and sing his heart out. He is a phenomenal artist. The musicians in
the band put the music together to make one of the greatest metal sounds that is out there. They can play it soft and yet have a chaotic metal sound at anytime they
please. The live performances are magnificent and come out perfect to what one will hear on the CD. It takes talent to make a 3, 4, or 5, man band but 9!....that is a
stroke of genius. They obviously can't be that bad if they got to where they're at right now. Once you guys (anyone reading this) makes it further than them, then i'll
give you the utmost credit you deserve. But hey, it's just music. I'm here to enjoy the sounds my ears allow me to.

I have to agree with you blackdog mudvayne is amazing.....and to remembermetal.....joey is a really quick drummer, yet very sloppy.....not taking credit away from him...he is very good too. As far as drummers go i have to give it to lamb of god or dragon force (yes the singing sucks on dragon force). And to renegade, yes corey is a good musician, i love his work in stone sour, straight up, and soulfly. Unfortunately i just dont feel corey was put to all of his potential in slipknot up until subliminal verses, and by that point unfortunately slipknot had made a name for them selves of being extreme heavy metal. So when people started hearing vermillion part 2 everybody thought it was a rip off of stone sour. Personally i like that song except in the chorus theres this really high pitch frequency that kills my ears.

all you fa**ots shut the hell up. Bad mouthin slipknot and stone sour like u know about music. listen all u little 12 year olds, they're both great bands, with very talented members. Of coarse there not perfect but who is? I think they've come a long way and deserve to be considered one of the best bands of this generation.

the sad part is....im 24. Are u 12? I just get really bored.....really bored. As far as the fag part goes....i guess you would know. Damn look at this your actually getting mad because someone is dogging a band you like... most of us are f***in around....why? because most of us are really bored.
