Promoters have confirmed that slow ticket sales have caused Ozzfest to cancel its Twin Cities stop for the second year in a row, according to StarTribune.com.

The show, set for July 14 in Somerset, Wis., did not include fest founder and namesake OZZY OSBOURNE, who is performing only a handful of concerts this summer. SYSTEM OF A DOWN, DISTURBED and AVENGED SEVENFOLD were among the acts slated to appear at Float-Rite Park in Somerset.

Last year's show was canceled because Osbourne was ill.

Refunds are available at place of purchase.

I wonder why Ozzfest is not selling that many tickets. Maybe because Sharon Osbourne is a crazy b**** who has become the puppet master to one of the greatest metal singers of all time. Maybe Somerset has a large population of Iron Maiden fans who are still angered about Sharon's treating Bruce like trash.

that is awesome.....i bet it is because this used to be a metal festival, but now they have Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed on the bill so people dont want to put on their makeup and go stand outside in the heat and have it run......or it could be b/c there are so many unbelievable summer tours, none of which include Avenged Sevenfold (sorry, I hate that band)

This is quite depressing. I think the problem with Ozzfest is that half of the bands playing are bands that somehow succeeded in being trendy, played out, and tired, like Disturbed and System of a Down. It's going to be uninteresting when your two main headlining bands have been playing the main stage's third or second time slots since 2001! If they put better bands on that stage rather than artists who make their next album DEPENDENT on playing Ozzfest. "Oh, I'll be playing main stage at Ozzfest. I guess I can relax a little bit with my band's album." Don't get me wrong, I love Ozzy just as much as the next guy, but what Sharon did to Iron Maiden was crazy. And a lot of famous bands saw that. And it shows. How much do you think they had to pay for Disturbed to play their "fest" again? System of a Down? Forget it. System hasn't been impressive since "Toxicity".

I'm not defending Disturbed, I'm just making a point. You said that they've been playing the second and third stage slots. Well when Disturbed played the second stage for their first CD apparently they had such a big response that they got moved to the main stage. I don't know if it was for every date but it happened at I think Alpine Valley. This is what one of my friends told me when he went that year.

well there could be a few reasons why they weren't selling enough tickets, isnt ozzy playing a date in wisconsin, maybe everybody is buying tickets to that show, who knows, i think this year is a good lineupand i dont see how the main headlining bands are dependant on ozzfest, seeing that system of a down released their cds last year and im pretty sure disturbed's cd was released last year, too, and they both have had succesful tours. i think that this years lineup is pretty good, it is going to be nice seeing black label society on the second stage, i do wish they wouldnt have had like 5 bbands from 2004's ozzfest on here though, and i bet the people that are making fun of this years ozzfest were praising SOTU last year, but if you look carefully like 8 bands on the ozzfest lineup were on SOTU last year

Damn more maiden fans b****ing about bruce d***head. He got what he deserved and has nothing to with this ozzfest not going well. There are only those 3-4 good bands that someone mentioned in an earlier post and on top of that no Ozzy or Sabbath. You little whiners can talk when maiden does their own headlining tour of the states and fill up stadiums if that happens before hell freezes over.

It's a miz of relative unknowns and popular acts that arent in great enough numbers to really push tickets...Plus metal is in a weirder place than it's been since the turn of the century. Lots of unknowns are building steam these days (but not enough to sell Ozzfest) while lesser known acts are generating less and less of the radio sensation they used to (see Korn, Godsmack, Disturbed etc).

Sharon Osbourne is the Yoko Ono of the 21st century.

I think that soon there are going to be people declining to be on Ozzfest. Mostly because they'll begin recognizing it for the charade that it is. I think some might have already - the reason for this years line-up being extremely and blatently weak.

I might also further guess that cheeseheads (people from Wisconsin - in case some dope thinks that might be a shot at them) aren't all that into metal.

Anyone posting here from the Northern Mid-west?

How can Ozzfest be Ozzfest without Ozzy? Just f***ing call it "Systemfest". The point I was trying to make is that these headliners have been playing ozzfest for ages. Same bands = same tour. Get over Disturbed. If ANY of you ever heard D. Draiman talk, you'd be astounded at how dumb he is. f*** this. Good Job, WI. Wisconsin cancelling this show is, in a way, telling metal to check it's bullsh**. Metal is in a horrible state right now. Ozzfest needs retired. Not re-hauled every year, but RETIRED. Just like Ozzy needs to be. I don't blame Sharon, she just wants the ca$h! I blame Dis-f***ing-turbed for playing Ozzfest for six of the ten years that it has existed. Now, go ahead, you FLAMERS, correct me and see if I care. Faced!

ever heard of the milwaukee metalfest? Minnesota
Death Fest? Maybe because folks in that area listen to
real metal and have a better understanding on good tastes and don't waste to waste
thier time and money on this emo fa**otry fest.
