DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Silenoz has posted the following message on the band's official forum:

"For those of you who can't still read and at the same time believe in rumors, I just want to make things clear [regarding the band's current lineup]:

Shagrath - Vocals
Silenoz - Guitars
Galder - Guitars
Vortex - Bass
Mustis - Keys
Hellhammer - Drums

"[Hellhammer] is a hired hitman and will be playing festivals for us this year and on the upcoming album, and hopefully the world touring that will follow the new album."

DIMMU BORGIR recently became the first band on the Nuclear Blast USA roster to sell more than 100,000 copies of a full-length album with their "Death Cult Armageddon" (2003) release, according to sales figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

DIMMU BORGIR are currently writing material for their next studio, tentatively due in early 2007. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums, will be "a full story/concept album," according to a posting on the group's web site.

i think having Hellhammer on board adds a bit to their credibility. concept albums are a great idea. it gives the listener a good story to listen to and be entertained by. i'm looking forward to the new release.

I think the racist remark is bunk first off.....

The key thing is Galder, Vortex and Shagrath remain....they are the key players.

Hope that this next album is more Puritancial Euphoric Misanthropia and less Death Cult Armageddon....I like both albums but the last was just missing something in the vocal and playing speed department.

It is really hard not to like Dimmu Borgir. When you hear songs like "The Insight And The Catharsis" and "Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria" or "The Maelstrom Mephisto" does it really matter that they may not be as "Underground"/"BlackMetal" as they once were. Some BlackMetal bands are more extreme but for me this is not a yardstick to judge all by.They certainly are epic/atmospheric !!.It will be interesting to see how the addition of Hellhammer affects their style. For me personally i'd like to see a return to their more traditional sound, faster songs but whatever they do they will always have the originality/courage to try something unexpected.Maybe that is why I cannot dismiss them.

I like the outrageous speed of PEM....

Not that there aren't much faster bands or albums but in the realm of symphonic black metal that album is great.....

To RememberMetal? As you can guess my personal fave for "symphonic/ambience/epic"whatever you want to call it is Spiritual Black Dimensions.I have to admit P.E.M is what got me into Dimmu. The drumming performance by Nicholas is outstanding truly unbelievable maybe others can do faster "Blast-Beats" but there is more to percussion than just speed.Hellhammer has a tough act to follow thats for sure.
