A short audio sample including vocals of the new SLAYER song "Cult" in has been posted online at this location (click the play button below "Posluchaj" to launch audio). That page also shows what should be the single cover for "Cult," which can be viewed directly here.
Despite a previous announcement to the contrary, Amazon.com WILL NOT be selling a limited-editon (5,000 copies) SLAYER "Cult" single. A SLAYER management representative has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the single will ONLY be sold through Hot Topic stores. All Amazon.com pre-orders have apparently been cancelled and the money will be refunded.

Some "other" metal bands (you know who they are and I won't advertise by naming them) would charge for the song. At least give them credit for knowing where the "lesser" metal fans among us hang out. Chris Jericho's (actual name, Chris Irvine) band is called Fozzy. Member's include those of Stuck Mojo and other established bands. Interestingly, Jericho's stage name is taken not from the ancient sicty, but from band Helloween's album, Walls of Jericho. Walls of Jericho is also an unrelated band on the trustkill label. Fozzy have three albums out, don't know the names of them though. you can probly find out more detail with a simple google search, you know. or, i think their official site is fozzyrock.com, or maybe just fozzy.com, i dunno. happy hunting, anyways.

I'm going to argue the other way, CFH; Slayer have put out many albums, and overall, they havn't experienced very much change in style or sound. They still retain their original fanbase, as well as having piked up fans along the way. Thus it could be argued that if Metallica hadn't changed their sound and style quite so drastically, and had indeed released ten albums that all sounded like AJFA/RTL/etc, they would more than likely have retained THEIR original fanbase, as well as picking up fans along the way. I mean, I'd definitely be a fan.
of course, it's all just hypothetical, really, who could know how things would have transpired if Bob Rock had never been made producer? more than likely, another producer would have done the exact same thing.

Our musical interests have varied from friggin country to techno, metal, classic rock, rap, goth and now nu-rock. It would be silly to only like one type of music and be so narrow minded... I, myself have gone through many phases in my life where I like different types of music.. Leelee and I used to totally listen to rgoth music in high school, then we changed to rap and R&B...... then we got into grunge, and now it's (I guess you call it) nu-rock (Korn, Mudvayne, Slip-knot, Godsmack, Tool, Disturbed, SOAD, Chevelle, etc...) But, I still listen to and appreciate the music I used to primarily focus on... except rap and R&B.. I cannot stand that chit now...But, I still like my goth music, and grunge. And personally, I have never, EVER cared for country music..

Lorlor - it's not so much that I'm siding with brad. I'm not one to actively take parts in fights, as 'siding' would conote. I just happen to share some of brad's viewpoints. I also share some of yours. However, Brad DOES have intelligent input, when he's not simply calling people names or dissing a band. Unlike most people, Brad can (generally) actually explain WHY, using grounded facts, he does not enjoy a particular style of music or band or whatever. THAT is intelligence. He insults those that don't argue using this same level of intelligence. You'll notice that when Brad and jnsguts have a tiff, it's a lot more than simply insulting each other. I think Brad's veiwpoint is that opinions are sh**ty unless they are well-grounded on facts. MU is about voicing opinions, yes; and all the moreso if you can back your opinions up (unfortunately, most can't and don't). Whilst I find Brad's sense of humour amusing, I also don't think that simply insulting people is the best way to deal with them. So while it may appear that I am siding with Brad, I'm not, really. I'm just offering my own opinions, trying to justify them, and agreeing with whoever holds opinions that I agree with.
Korndogg - resorting to insulting Brad isn't going to make me take your side, either, just as much as Brad resorting to insulting you isn't going to make me take his side. Please don't just say "he's a virgin, why do you want to side with a virgin?" etc etc. You wont get anywhere with me like that.
And yes, from his posts on threads (mostly before you turned up at mu) i DO think that Brad knows his music. He probably knows more about music than I do. Unfortunately, he's a lot more selective and exclusive when it comes to his musical tastes than a lot of us here.
