Korn To Have Street Named After Them, Receive 'Lifetime Achievement' Plaque

KORN will be honored with a bronze plaque to commemorate a "lifetime of achievement" and will have a street named after them in their hometown of Bakersfield, California. The ceremony will take place this Friday, February 24 at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, right before the band kick off their "See You on the Other Side" world tour. The mayor, city councilmen, and other city and arena officials are scheduled to appear at the ceremony.
KORN's North American tour will wrap up on April 4 in Toronto, Canada. MUDVAYNE and 10 YEARS will be the opening acts.
"See You On The Other Side" has sold 702,000 copies since its release on December 6, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu told MTV.com that he is currently working on a new solo effort, describing it as "heavy," and not a follow-up to his 2002 rap project, FIELDY'S DREAMS.
KORN recently shot a video for "Coming Undone", the second single from "See You On The Other Side".

I agree as well. everyone jumped on Metallica for selling out and going commercial, yet Ozzy is praised for doing the same sh**. Just because Sabbath inspired good bands, doesn;t make Sabbath a good band. They are boring, ozzy is boring, BLS is boring. However, Korn sucks. Stands out from the rest. The self titled and life is peachy are pretty much the same. Follow the leader was ok...back in 98 that is... but it wasnt S.T. or L.I.P, they went to a new sound. I'd go for Death Avenue. I agree with seven churches. Chuck Schuldiner needs a street named after him. As for KF, yeah, Sabbath does sound like blues. That's becausethe oldest metal took rock back to its roots and then brought it forward down a different path. It wasn't until the Death and Black Metal of the early to mid-80's that metal started being written that was much more classical based than blues based. As for Korn, they're not worth the air they displace.

The newly dubbed route is actually the modest driveway and loading dock area that runs between the back of the arena and the Burlington Northern railroad tracks, according to The Bakersfield Californian.
Arena officials, it seems, can't rename city streets without going through city bureaucracy, so they had to settle for an access road (The guys at Bakersfield, are too lazy to give them an actual street so they settle for a "modest access road", don't give it that long a$$ name, the correct term is "alley". If you ask me, Korn has been jipped)
Arena manager Jim Foss said he and his team would be the first to support any effort to name a real city street after KORN, whose members are still very dedicated to their hometown. "They certainly deserve it," he said.
The Korn Row idea was hatched in Foss' office and the sign went up Tuesday (Feb. 21) — just in time for Friday's (Feb. 24) KORN concert at Rabobank, the kickoff of the group's "See You on the Other Side" world tour.
Before the show, the band were honored with a bronze plaque to commemorate a lifetime of achievement (A lifetime of achievement, and you only get an alley named after you, with a bronze plaque, not even a plaque made from a precious metal? You know what I'd be surprised about? If Patterson actually became a replacing member of Head. But no, they didn't sell out UNTIL THIS NEW ALBUM. There is a difference between selling out and making money. Slayer, Pantera, they make money. Korn, sells out. The similarity is that all 3 make money. But the difference is that when Slayer and Pantera make money, they do it on THEIR TERMS. No compromises, no one helping them other than themselves. When Korn makes money, they make compromise after corporate capital compromise, until final result is an album that doesn't belong exclusively to the band, but to the producers and people writing the songs for them. That is SELLING OUT, when you're making money, and its not even your work anymore. But they didn't do THAT before...Before, it was THEIR sh**. Before, you could tell it was theirs, which is why now, you can tell that its NOT theirs. Now the album comes out the asses of its producers, Korn has finally sold their souls to the burgeuois devil. And its a sad site.

Korn sold out by making songs like "Blind", "Clown", "Faget", "Daddy" and "Ball Tongue" and then penning songs like "Y'all Wanna Single", "Twisted Transistor" and "Word Up". These more recent songs are geared toward pop radio fans.
Exhibit A.) Less screaming, more singing.....Damning yes...but this alone isn't selling out.
Exhibit B.) Less dark subject matter...Read the lyrics to "Daddy" or "Faget" then read the lyrics to ANYTHING off of Twisted Transistor....It's boring and it's safe....It's even dumbed down and Korn were never boasting complex lyrics to begin with.
Exhibit C.) Severely streamlined songs....Once this band could actually drag you through differnt grim passages....be a little spacey and minimal one minute and then drop you into a breakdown the next....Now it's all shiney and obvious. There is absolutely nothing shocking, jarring or surprising about any Korn song.
Listen to the differnece in vocal/instrumental intensity.....Once upon a time this band actually commanded a little bit of respect (I knew Slayer and Deicide fans that liked Korn) from the metal community....They weren't a great band but they were doing something original...Now they suck as much or worse than Limp Bizkit.

BEHEMOTH in ISRAEL !!!
Behemoth has just successfully conquered the holy land. Their show in Tel Aviv at Metalist Festival has been enthusiastically received by the Israeli audience.
"I'm so happy we've finally managed to get there and do that show...Playing in front of 2000 people was a real blast and will definitely become one of highlights in band's history. I wish we could get on stage earlier coz playing at 3.00 a.m., when people are pretty much tired and drunk is very challenging. Anyway, being there, performing for all of you guys was something i will always remember as a great thing. Hopefully we'll have a chance to meet. again...I also wanted to thank all the people who made our stay sooo enjoyable. Our walk down the Via Delorosa was just amazing..."

Then the song comes to a closure by entering the next track with Jon beatboxing skills as D.J. Lethal begins to introduce some new cuts and Fred Durst begins to deliver "The Values of This Family." Yep, you got it Jon and Fred delivers some more of their korny-style "All in the Family." But this time, they've got to come hard because Munky's guitar has got to talk in the rhymes. And every song has got to bring us closer to the finale, the title track... track 12. When Jon asks us again, Are U Ready? because "Sum U Gain" will join the forces of "Blind" and "Falling Away from Me." Oh sh**, sum1 wake me up... "I Must Be Dreamin'." That's the hidden song we'll get after wading through a 4:32 duration of silence.

Zyklon-B has also shared recordings with Mayhem offering a double-dosage of their brutal message.
Some track titles found that seem catchy enough for me may be: "f*** Me Jesus," Marduk * "Goats to Azazael," Angel Corpse * and Impaled Nazarene's "Latex Cult" & "Motorp***s." As I have reviewed most of these artist using AllMusicGuide and not find a mention of the words hatecrime, jew, n*****, supremacy, Aryan nor Nazi, however as with most artist take precautions on the artist you invest in because your deserved $ is promoting whatever cause they support.
