Bleeding Through To Play Ozzfest 2006?

Band Photo: Bleeding Through (?)
Metalunderground.com reader, Anthony Viscusi, writes in to report that on February 17, 2006 while playing The Pound in San Francisco, Bleeding Through frontman Brandan Schieppati announced the Bleeding Through will be slated to play Ozzfest 2006. After Bleeding Through's second encore song, Schieppati reportedly said "We'll see you at Ozzfest," just before leaving the stage.
If you attended that show, we'd love to hear some corroborating stories. At this time, nothing has been officially confirmed however.

Is it just me or does the singer of Bleeding Through look like the Good Charlotte guy on steroids??? Just a thought.
And as it stands now...I am quite disappointed in the Ozzfest line-up. I had made a habit out of planning a week-long trip around the Ozzfest...being in the southwest we only have a few cities around here that they come to...so we would usually pack up for a week and just party...and somewhere in there we went to a kickass concert...we did this from '99 to '04. Last year was the first I missed since we started, and I was planning on going back this year...but this line-up is incredibly boring to me.
Disturbed (if they are on the bill) are so mundane...BLS I've seen tons of times (not that they are bad...but I need a new experience)...Bleeding Through and Unearth are okay I guess...but I'm rather indifferent about both...they don't make me get excited about the show...they are good filler...that's all...Atreyu...yeah...I consider them a guilty pleasure...but again...seen them...need a new experience...anyway I think you all get my point. I just don't know why I should care yet. Now granted, they still have a lot of bands that haven't been announced...and I'm sure they'll inevitably add some band that will make it somewhat worth it.
Last year I did go to SOTU. There were some bad bands there too...but overall the experience was great. Opeth, GWAR, DevilDriver, SYL, High on Fire, Clutch, Lamb of God...it was a pretty damn good show...and not to mention fairly diverse among the sub-genres. This year the SOTU have already peaked my interest with the bands that they have announced.
It's too bad...I wanted a reason to go to Ozzfest...and they refuse to give me one. We always wondered what would happen when Ozzy stepped away...I think we all are getting a pretty clear picture of the answer to that question.

ok so you call bleedin through mainstream? and what the f*** is maiden and anthrax then, every f***in person has at least heard of them, whether its in the matal world or not. that is not the case for bleeding through. no disrespect to anthrax of course. and personally i like club shows better, wouldn't go to ozzfest, but i would only make an exception for say...SOTU's line up this year!

i think what where seeing is all the bands that kelly wants to be on ozzfest that little b**** and i agree with crazykid anthrax would kick a$$ at ozzfest bleeding through seems like they try to hard to look the way they do and this ozzfest is goin to be bullsh** hopefuly metallicas there

your exactly right Remembermetal? i loathe them and it is no surprise.....you could see this coming for years with these clowns. i love how they claim to be the original metal/hardcore crossover band too....that is a joke. someone should tell them about overcast, and oh, yeah all those bands from sweden whose sound they completely bite

13. writes:
Ozzfest sucks except for the good rumors of Dragonforce and Dio playing ozzfest. Bleeding Through is f***ing horrible, much like Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. Warped Tour is looking good with Dead To Fall and ETID. and SOTU has GWAR so thats the best lineup so far this year.

14. writes:
OK...you are all f***ing morons - there is no such thing as main-stream metal!!!! i agree with rising end - if ne thing maiden is mainstream...they're just a bunch of british douchebags dressin like queers and puttin on a circus while they're on stage...big sets and special effects...runnin around all over the stage like a queerball- sounds like they could be listed under NSYNC's or Backstreet Boys' influences. Maybe it's time that we let some new, young bands get a shot...who wants to watch a bunch of old guys every single year although Metallica would be amazing. deaththreat can't be serious with ETID either - I've never seen a bigger poser of a band. Not to mention - i think all their band members have got a little sugar in their drawers if you catch my drift...I agree with the disses on avenged sevenfold - SELLOUTS...once a "metal" band hits number one on TRL I think it's time to go on tour with fallout boy or maybe even john mayer...Get off Bleeding Through though...This is who we need to see this year - Main stage - Metallica, wouldn't mind seeing disturbed, system of a down (not really one of my favs. but I heard they're good live), Chimaira, HATEBREED, and def. wouldn't mind seein Slipknot up there - they're due for a spot. Second stage - Bleeding Through, Unearth, Atreyu (May not be metal but they have their own style and I have no shame in sayin they're one of my favs.), Remembering Never (just because they're so freakin brutal), Hell Within, Nothingface (now that they're back together), Manntis (def. shoulda beat out a dozen furies in the battle for ozzfest), Bloodsimple, All That Remains, 36 Crazyfists, Bleed The Sky (would probably take the second stage by storm...trust me you should def. check them out), The Agony Scene, and i know im really gonna hear it for this but Bullet For My Valentine ( I like a little variety...it gets boring to stand in the sun all day listenin to basically the same band the whole entire show ) Ozzfest IS NOT doomed. I don't care what ne of you say...last year's second stage was AMAZING minus will smith's wife...Trivium, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Soilwork...need I say more? And it was awesome seein Mudvayne and In Flames too...both f***in rocked out....by the way...everyone should check out mtv.com - sounds of the underground lineup was posted - In Flames, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, and Cannibal Corpse will be there

16. writes:
That's a great list killswitch32888! I don't really prefer Bullet For My Valentine or Atreyu but who cares the rest of the bands are awesome! And MANNTIS should have beat A Dozen Furies! But they still got a record deal anyway so it's all good. They'll play at Ozzfest sometime unless there was some stupid thing in a contract or something that losing bands couldn't do it. But f*** them if that's the case they'll just go to SOTU!!!

20. writes:
I never said all of those bands were metal but c'mon...God Forbid? All That Remains? Hell Within? Bleed the Sky? Bloodsimple? Trivium? Chimaira? How aren't these bands metal? and "with the slight exception of soilwork and in flames"....slight exception??? - they're known for playing swedish metal!....Please define metal for me...smart ass.

21. writes:
Man a lot of you people are hard to please! If only those three bands are metal that were listed then in your opinion what is metal? It can't have any kind of subgenre or anything? I thought Metallica was metal. Am I wrong? Because the way that I know of is that Black Sabbath created metal and Metallica perfected it. So what's your opinion on what metal is?

22. writes:
thank you opeth suck!...finally somebody is saying something sane...my bad i just forgot to mention metallica in my last entry...I'm sick of lookin at all these boards and seeing people try to define metal...or justify a band's quality by sayin they're metal!! or bring down another band by saying they're not metal! just like any other kind of music....metal evolves - you can't expect every band to keep the same sound as black sabbath or maiden...or whatever older metal band...saying a band sucks cuz they're not metal is the moron's way out...come on...u gotta guys gotta come at me better than that...make me and opeth suck!!! shut our mouths...put us in our place if you can! (by the way i kinda like opeth - ghost reveries is awesome lol)

23. writes:
Hey it's cool dude. I like two Opeth songs but other then that I just don't like the long songs. I like For Absent Minds just because it has a cool guitar riff that I did my Audio Production 1 class on where I had to make a 60 second commercial. and I do like The Grand Conjuration. But it's too long for me. lol oh well. I made the name just to stir sh** up because people think they know everything.

24. writes:
Well God Forbid to me is metalcore not a bad band though I have seen them live a couple of times
here maybe i will help you out on the def. of metal and underground cause this band employs
both spirits of this site. www.neuraxis.org check em out and my pals at www.demiricous.com
that is your lesson for the day. In Flames and Soilwork have been in a steady decline for the last
5 years listen to The Jester Race and Colony from In Flames and all the cds before Stabbing
The Drama (which I like it's reminds me of Swedish version of Fear Factory) from Soilwork and
maybe you kids might have a clue.

Good..we need more young bands on the second stage of Ozzfest to get the word out. Bleeding Through, Atreyu, A7X, and Unearth only improve the tour's image. Pack the second stage with young up-and-coming bands and then jam up the main stage with expirienced acts. I agree, Disturbed should be touring with rock bands on a rock tour, not f***ing Ozzfest. I definitely do not agree with putting them on the bill. But I agree with alot of you older metal fans about putting Metalica or other bands on the first stage. That's what it's meant for, the veteran metal bands that should attract people. I had alot of fun watching Shadows Fall and Mudvayne put on a good Main Stage show last year, and I had even more fun watching Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying defining the second stage. It was a good balance of old to new. And I'm sorry guys, I know I'm going to get mouthed off over this one, but Black Label Society is only on the tour because of Wylde's ties to Ozzy...we all know that much. I just think it's time to see some new blood on the main stage, and see something different. I've been seeing Black Label Society the past two years, and I personally don't think I'd like to see a third.

Rulin Kmadd I was asking what peoples definitions of metal was because it seems like people think of only one thing is metal. Metalcore is still part metal. That's what pisses me off about it. I listen to all these bands and I have everyone of the Soilwork CD's. I love metal and metal doesn't have to be straight metal to be considered it. Like Ill Nino for example: they are part metal with like a latin twist. Bands ARE able to have metal in there music and be part something else and still considered metal. Like Bullet For My Valentine, I don't like them but bare with me, are like Emometal or whatever people want to call them. But they still are part metal or you can tell they have metal influences.

Can they PLEASE stop putting f***ing Black Label Society on Ozzfest? I guess Zakk never learned to book his own shows...sad. Ok, you guys ready? Our set list goes as follows...I wank on the guitar and spit beer, we play a song, I wank some more and smash a beer can on my head, we play the next song OR the same song over since they sound the same - just in case I am too drunk to remember, you...the nameless other guitar player, will step back and look at me in awe as I wank some more 80s tricks on guitar sans my yellow spandex suit, we repeat the songs over and then I have my final 80s 'music store' style wank off....then for the big finale I WILL LEAVE MY GUITAR AT MAXIMUM VOLUME AS I JUST LEAVE IT AND WALK OFF STAGE. The kids are going to f***ing LOVE IT! I RULE...don't I...I said DON'T I ?!?!?!?! [band] yes sir zakk - you are the man - thank you for allowing me to exist

Ok, Kilswitch32888, You are a poser if ive EVER heard of one!!!! How can You say that Iron Maiden is a"Queerball?" Have You even seen them play? Yes, they are mainstream, but so is Metallica!!!! The only reason why they are mainstream is because they have AMAZING music. That goes the same for Metallica, also. Hey, all those bands, Bleeding Through, In Flames, All that Remains???? What the heck are you talking about dude, those bands can't hit a riff with a baseball bat. I think that Ozzfest needs METAL bands, meaning not any of this Nu Metal crap like you listed. Get some Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Flotsam and Jetsam, Motorhead, Def Leppard,Testament, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and maybe some Overkill in their, man!!!!!! Go back to your poser fest concerts and die in a mosh pit. The 80's is where all the good music is at, and that's where it will be. I say if these old guys can still rock like they did 20 years ago, then why not let them put on a show? Also, there are NO young taleted bands today, they are all trying to copy the great bands from the 80's. ALL new bands SUCK.

ever so often i go on these websites and i watch the shouting matches happen but the sad truth is if bands like underoath, bloodsimple, trivum, and as i lay dying, or other hardcore/ extreme metal bands took over ozzfest to please you people, that would truly be the death of ozzfest, not b/c they suck but b/c in reality they are far from big names, thus sales will decrease (or would you like a 12$ coke with those 13$ frys) im a sound crew member of ozzfest for the past 6 years and i hate to say it but bands like disturbed manson coal chamber power man5000 ALL came BEFORE the hardcore/metal bands. it seems ppl so easily forgot ozzfest's roots, the last GREAT ozzfest was 2003, why? b/c it was the last of 8 ozzfests to cater to everyones needs, from the goths to the metal heads to the hardcore kids to the overall rock scene it had a wonderful blend of all music genres the way ozzfest first started out as!!!!! now ozzfest only caters to thatONE genre! the fact is the hardcore/metal guys seem to have the most closed minded and hypocritical point of view, and guess what im sorry to say but as a lover of ALLgenres of rock, hardcore-metal sounds the same, im sorry im not saying there bad im justsaying ive seen all of bands come and go and this scene is just a passing phase in kids ages 15-22 these bands wont last another tens years, with this fact i also have to say that even though you may hate disturbed or korn or manson i bet 100$ you can pont out one of there songs (bad or good). and as for future "goth" bashing, the sad fact is that goth isnt and was never "the in scene thing", those kids have been getting the raw end of the rock deal from day one, hell they name bands i havent heard of...ever, i think one was called VNV nation? i think its funny b/c for every goth kid (true blue or fake) there are litterally over hundreds of hardcore and emo kids to one of them, you guys use them as scapegoats really? i bet if you make fun of one, then ur 4 other buddies do the same chances r its the same kid. so there you have it the truth about ozzfest, o and by the way iron maiden got what they diserved, they treated evryone like sh** ( i mean everyone) they said the phase "f*** these americans" MANY times, and basicly be-littled ozzy on stage while waving a british flag, you like iron maiden? good, b/c if your american they dont like you back,

33. writes:
yeah i was so p***ed (who wasnt!?) last yrs ozzfest. Im not bagging on your guyses opinion on Bleeding through or any of those "new" metal bands but hey, i mean you gotta give the new bands a chance. I completely love maiden and all of those other bands but i think we need a little change after awhile and i think this is a good way to bring metal back to life by bringing in new metal (of course they should bring megadeth and those other bands out too but its good to bring new sh** too to the stage)

34. writes:
If you don't like the bands that might be on ozzfest quit b****ing about and go see another tour..No one ever said you have to go to ozzfest to see music...Go to sounds of the underground or go to some other concert...From the rumors ozzfest doesn't sound like it will be awesome but it won't be horrible like everyone says it doesn't have HIM, hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance or any f***ing retarded bands like that so at the end of the day it's not to bad of concert when you think about it..However I will probally go to sounds of the underground myself but that doesn't mean I won't check out ozzfest at somepoint....

35. writes:
the sad thing, the guy from bleeding through could kick the sh** ouuta you skinny little death metal fags. so just go listen to some cannibal corpse and pretend that you have some kind of evil powers and that your life is not just a worthless sh**hole. i like old metal as much as the next guy, slayer is one of my favorite bands. but the fact is music is changing, just as it did when all the claasic metal was introduced. you morons are too focused on the bands image and classifying them to realize that their music is actually good. and whoever said all that remains cant make a good riff, go f*** yourself and die. atr has some of the most melodic and awesome riffs in the genre. the point of ozzfest is to make money, if you put a bunch of unknown death metal bands on ozzfest, you will lose money. the bands on ozzfest are making money and pulling more kids into metal.
if nothing else consider this, bands like bleeding through attract newcomers to metal who then want to lern more about metal and then look at bands like slayer etc. maybe if the person wants to they might get into death metal too.(or would you hate that too if it became popular?)

36. writes:
well looky here it's my buddy on ultimatemetal.com^^^^^ not really. But hey how many albums
Slayer has sold in their lifetime with no radio or media play? Morbid Angel? Deicide? Dimmu?
believe you me extreme metal is still profitable look at all the bands on SOTU tour this year.
And hell even the metalcore mod fags ball every once in a while will feature a video from
Behemoth, Decapitated and Hate Eternal etc. dude you folks are pointless in saying that
real metal is not a profitable thing. Your trends come and go hell death metal has been around
for almost 2o years and it will be around for the next 20 that is all.

37. writes:
for one thing dimmu has sold just over 100'000 albums combined in their career that sucks their a good band and all but that isn't good sells and don't try to say that trivium and as i lay dying and in flames aren't well known bands that still sell albums those are some of the most popular metal bands in the world Trivium and AILD had two of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year...So don't say no one knows them and they still sell albums because more people know them than they do Morbid Angel or Dimmu Borgir... The point is no one wants to see dimmu or morbid angel...And I personaly would only like to see Slayers drummer and guitarists because their lead singer f***ing sucks....
