Darkthrone Enters Norwegian Singles Chart

According to Rockdetector.com, DARKTHRONE — probably the most uncompromising of the veteran Norwegian black metal bands — have sensationally entered the national singles charts in Norway. The group's "Too Old, Too Cold" EP debuted at No. 11 this week.

"Too Old, Too Cold" features a cover version of SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES' "Love In A Void" and the original "High On Cold War", featuring Grutle Kjellson from ENSLAVED on guest vocals.

DARKTHRONE will release their new album, "The Cult Is Alive" on February 27 via Peaceville. The album will be available on CD, special-edition CD featuring the band's first-ever promo video (for "Too Old, Too Cold") and on limited-edition shark grey vinyl.

Peaceville Records recently released a special edition boxset of DARKTHRONE's "Preparing for War" anthology (originally issued in 2001), which covers more rare tracks and includes a DVD of rare interview and live footage. The "Preparing for War" special edition boxset features two CDs and a DVD and comes in a clam box, complete with poster and booklet containing an in-depth interview with the band, conducted by U.K. journalist James Hinchliffe.
