Finland's NIGHTWISH, who recently parted ways with longtime frontwoman Tarja Turunen, have issued the following statement via their official web site:

"Several [media outlets] have spread information about a new singer of NIGHTWISH but every single word has been a lie. We ask people not to believe everything that is told. We are not searching for a new singer yet and any kind of negotiations with any singer has NOT yet seen daylight."

As previously reported, Spinefarm Records has set a June 7, 2006 release date for the upcoming "End of an Era" CD/DVD release from NIGHTWISH. "End of an Era" will contain footage of NIGHTWISH's final concert with Turunen, which took place on October 21 at the Hartwall arena in Helsinki, Finland.

I was a huge fan of tarja, and am a huge fan of Nightwish, but i do believe from the public letter that the band aired for all fans to view, that their descisions were the best for them, perhaps you should all stop saying negative things about the band, i think that perhaps you dont have enough information, it is not as if Tarja was the leader of the band, all she did was sing the lyrics that Tuomas wrote, and the others play their instruments beautifully with passion, did you not read that letter that they aired? Tarja was becoming too commercial and about the money, and if any of you truly had a passion for Nightwish and for music in itself then you would realize that they just dont want to be all about the commerciality of the music industry THEY DONT WANT TO SELL OUT , they want to remain true to the integrity of the band, i believe that although Tarja was an amazing and strikingly beautiful talent, who seemed to put alot of passion in atleast singing the lyrics, that the band will rise like a pheonix when they so chose, with a new vocalist that they will know is right for them, they are professional, and care deeply about the music as far as i have learned from reading about them, and the letters from them on their site, so all of you should stop following the image and commerciality, and if Tarja was really all you liked about Nightwish, she is a solo artist now, buy her cds along with new things from Nightwish, she hasnt disappeared, people move on, yes it is a true loss and saddness to have such a thing happen, but you shouldnt presume at all the Nightwish will go down hill from here, I believe they will grow and become just as good if not better, with someone with the same passion for what they do as they have.

Nightwish without Tarja is a different band. Sure they are all talented musicians and I am sure they all have huge egos, but if Metallica can work out their differences then Nightwish can as well. They should all go and get therapy. Yeah I read Tuomas' letter. Sure it was carefully worded, but it was also pathetic. When long established friendships end it is very sad. Tuomas is exceptionally talented, and I am sure has many great songs left in him, but Nightwish without Tarja is like Queen without Freddie Mercury. Its fun to watch them with Paul Rodgers but it can never be the same! Oh well, maybe Tuomas will convince Pavarotti to join the band. I'm sure if he puts his testicles in a vice he'd do a great job of "Angels fall first!"
