Bring Me The Horizon Premiere New Version Of “Black & Blue” - Announce Re-Recorded “Count Your Blessings – Repented”

Bring Me The Horizon have officially unveiled their long-discussed re-recording of their 2006 debut album “Count Your Blessings”, marking a 20th anniversary revisitation of their early deathcore era. The new version, titled “Count Your Blessings – Repented”, is scheduled for release on July 10th.

To launch the project, the band have shared a re-recorded version of “Black & Blue”, offering the first glimpse of how the revamped album will sound. The release has already sparked discussion among fans as the group revisits a formative yet controversial chapter of their catalogue.

The updated recording was mixed by Buster Odeholm (thrown, Vildhjarta), bringing a modern production approach to material originally released in 2006.

Frontman Oli Sykes recently addressed long-standing misconceptions about the band’s debut, telling Nik Nocturnal:

“I think a lot of people think that we hate that record or are embarrassed about it, ’cause we don’t play it and stuff, but really we were just always disappointed with how it sounded. Like, I remember we weren’t stoked on it at all when we came out of the studio.”

Sykes also pointed to producer Dan Sprigg’s lack of experience with deathcore at the time as a factor in the original album’s sound, noting his background working with acts like Simply Red.

To mark the anniversary, Bring Me The Horizon will also revisit “Count Your Blessings” in a series of live performances later this year.
