Left To Die Premiere Mantas Cover "Legion Of Doom''

The new cover of Mantas' “Legion Of Doom” by Left To Die has premiered online. It serves as the third single from the Death-worshipping supergroup's forthcoming debut album, “Initium Mortis,” which is due out July 17th via Relapse Records. Mantas would of course later evolve into the influential death metal band Death.
Left To Die features former Death members Terry Butler (Obituary, etc.) and Rick Rozz (ex-Massacre), with Rozz also having been part of Mantas during its formative years. The lineup is rounded out by Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome, etc.) and Gus Rios (Gruesome, ex-Malevolent Creation).
Terry Butler said of tackling this track:
“‘Legion Of Doom‘ is heavy as hell. One of the best and earliest knuckle-dragging riffs out there. So heavy in fact, that Death brought the main riff brought back out of retirement for the song ‘Spiritual Healing!’”
