The Associated Press is reporting that MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee was burned when a pyrotechnics stunt went wrong at a concert in Casper, Wyo., police said.

Lee played one more song after he was injured toward the end of Wednesday night's show, said Sgt. Doug Beran of the Casper Police Department, who responded to the incident. But another band member came out after a short break and said the concert had to be cut short because of the drummer's injuries, Beran said.

Lee was taken to a hospital for treatment but was not badly injured, he said. The sergeant declined to discuss details of Lee's injuries, citing privacy considerations.

Tom Morton, a reporter for the Casper Star-Tribune who attended the concert, said Lee appeared to be injured when sparks began flying as he swung above the stage suspended from a wire, back and forth between several drum sets. Another witness, Del Kinswoman, described the pyrotechnics as Roman candles.

MÖTLEY CRÜE was scheduled to perform in Bismarck, N.D. on Friday and in Rapid City, S.D. on Saturday, according to the group's web site.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's management sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the onstage incident :

"Tommy Lee suffered minor burns on his arms and face while suspended 30 feet above the stage during a pyrotechnic explosion at a MÖTLEY CRÜE concert in Casper, WY on Wednesday, October 12. He was treated as an outpatient at a local hospital and is expected to fully recover.

"MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil said, 'He didn't look good while the paramedics were treating him backstage so we chose to err on the side of caution and send him to the hospital.'

"No shows will be cancelled.

"The MÖTLEY CRÜE tour has been the unexpected success story of the live concert year. After six years apart, the band reunited earlier this year for a tour that has been one of the biggest box office attractions of 2005.

"Following the end of their own U.S. tour later this month, the CRÜE will join the ROLLING STONES for shows in Portland and Seattle before touring in Japan and Australia."

Too bad....

Jonathan Davis was playing his drums...

And he does drum too, so it could be possible...

(Laughing histerically and evil like)

Sadly, the wrong a-holes get f***ed up while the ones who deserve to get f***ed up don't...

I hope Tommy Lee makes a full recovery...I doubt I would have any of the same remorse for any of the members of Korn...

(More evil laughing)

Molly? What kind of chick are you?

Your a mean little one...

Do you by any chance suck on sausage?

If you catch my vernacular...

And Tommy Lee did at one time play in a real metal band, so he's not that bad....

Korn has never played real metal, nor will they ever...

wow, totally unrelated to Korn and they STILL get brought up anyway. Fastest way for an "Underground" site to stop posting about metal's most successful band of the last decade? STOP BRINGING THEM UP IN EVERY THREAD! jeebus. if there was no Korn, none of you would have anything to talk about on this site except for the occasional "Lamb of God rules!". and lets be real hear, when was motley crue a REAL metal band? Early Korn is more metal than anyting they put out. Motley Crue brought out the worst in metal to the mainstream, and it took the combined might of Alcholica and Megadeth to make people start to realize that, with the knockout blow coming by way of a little punk/grunge band named Nirvana. People simply get nostalgic over Motley because they remember the massive amounts of cocaine they were taking at the time and that perhaps they secretly liked dressing like women. Newer fans that have picked up on them are simply drawn to the porn exploits of Tommy Lee and his third leg. its like what Dennis Leary said, "Its not fair, all the great musicians all die young. John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, ALL DEAD. You leave Motley Crue with a bunch of 8-balls and an airplane, and all they do is come out with a double live album... DAMMIT!!"

not that i support the common complaint against almost EVERY band mentioned on this site, (as to who is and who isnt REAL metal, WTF IS real metal anyway?, you cant even decide amongst yourselves). I just dont support a band that did to rock and metal what crack has done to the black community. f*** you motley crue for sending Rock into the ghetto of music...

I don't see how Motley Crue did anything so bad to metal... I'd say Crue and GNR were two of the best and real metal from the hair metal era and I could still listen to them today (if I didn't have so much newer metal filling my listening time). Neither of them did in hair metal or metal. The excessive copy cats and lower quality bands that were getting big contracts at the end of that era did. Same thing happened with nu-metal.

see, if motley crue was "real" rock/metal, then vince neil's a$$ would still be in jail. but no, they are pop stars selling an image. and old dried up ones at that. when i think about all the sh**ty bands their success spawned, it makes me just wipe the 80s from the memory of man. and isnt this like their fourth comeback tour? how broke are these jackasses?

You probably thought that I preferred Korn, in this case Crue over Korn all the way. Jonathan should be silenced.

Korn aren't as bad as it is trendy to say that they are, but to say that people on a metal website would have nothing to talk about without them is laughable in the extreme. Korn have nothing to do with the evolution of metal (nu metal isn't really metal - instrumentally it bears little to no relation to anything else to bear that tag) , so I don't know how you can say this. I got into metal without Korn, and I quite happily listen to a lot of music that derives nothing from Korn's sound.

I can understand how people call Motley metal, because of the use of blues-based scales which are not unlike those around which metal was originally created (much closer than Korn), but they are still a gayass glam rock band band.

Oh and by the way, Lamb of God suck ass.
