Katatonia Premiere New Single & Music Video "Lilac" From Upcoming New Album "Nightmares As Extensions Of The Waking State"

Swedish progressive metal outfit Katatonia have unveiled their upcoming thirteenth studio album, Nightmares As Extensions Of The Waking State, which is set for release on June 06th. The album rollout begins with the premiere of the music video for its lead single, “Lilac,” available to view below.

This release marks a new chapter for the band, featuring their revamped lineup with guitarists Nico Elgstrand and Sebastian Svalland joining longtime members Jonas Renkse (vocals/guitar), Niklas Sandin (bass), and Daniel Moilanen (drums). Notably, co-founder Anders Nyström, a key figure in the band's history, officially exited earlier this year.

Renkse had the following to say about the forthcoming record:

“We are proud and excited to announce our new album, ‘Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State‘, coming out via Napalm Records on June 6. As always, these songs are the stories that thrive in the corner of the eye, obscured by the light but waiting to come alive in the dusk of our morbid existence.
