Seether Pays Tribute To Late Pantera Guitarist
South African hard rockers SEETHER reportedly performed a cover of PANTERA's "Walk" during their concert at San Francisco's Civic Auditorium Sunday night (Sept. 25) as a tribute to fallen PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. The San Francisco show was the second night of SEETHER's North American tour as the support act for AUDIOSLAVE. It is not presently clear if SEETHER's cover of "Walk" will be performed at every stop on SEETHER's current tour.
SEETHER's latest album, "Karma and Effect", has sold 398,000 copies in the United States since its late May release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

I must admit that Seether is not usually my cup of tea, but something about them has made me a huge fan. I was at this show(did not stay for audislave, just wanted to see Seether). they definately have their sh** together live. they are talented, they can play, and sound great.
as for the tribute, they announced that they were going to dedicate a song to the drowning pool singer who died, as well as dimebag, then they played the boring intro to 'good friends and a bottle of pills". half way through their song they stopped and played the first verse of walk(so no they didnt get to the solo, but am confident they could ace it, it isn't that difficult). Seether vocalist is very versatile, and sounded awesome singing a Pantera song.

This is pathetic! Do you people really have nothing better to do with you time then to talk about how bad this or that band sucks? Grow up! Open your mind! I`m a huge metalhead but belive it or not metal is not the only good music in the world. I`m not saying that every band is good there is tons of garbage out there in this market of overly commercial throw away music. So instead of constantly complaining about it maybe do something about it. Like go out and make some great music on your own. Unless your to busy slagging every no talent band that comes along to have time to practice.

A lot of these bashers sound like people who have only heard a radio song from Seether (and maybe the lame "broken" with Amy Lee even) and judged them by that. They've got some good sh** on the albums and do a great job of going from mid-paced radio-friendly to break-out screaming their heads off ("f*** you for killing me!"). They are the best radio-friendly band I've heard in a long time.
And while I'm sure "no one" can do a Pantera song justsice, I'm sure Seether did better than the 200 bands you've never heard of contributing to 20 different Pantera tribute albums... Yes I'm being facetious - no one can do a cover of a great band justice, but there's no harm in paying tribute to Dime in that way, as many others have.

ya know, all this really is kind of sick....here you guys are bashing some people who want to pay tribute to a legend, and whether they can plan every part of the the song or not, you have to respect the fact that they're doing it. I don't see any of you doing any flawless Pantera covers, and if you can, that's great, now go get yourself a record deal so people will give a damn. Not a huge fan of Seether either, but a round of applause to the boys.
