Korn unveil new recording equipment, process
Korn have completed work on their fifth as-yet-untitled album with Michael Beinhorn. The band is employing digital technology in a way that no other rock band has before. Korn have used a 'Euphonix R1 Digital Hard Disk Recorder', which has a sampling rate which is far higher than is usually used for recording purposes and will create the clearest sound possible.
"You can pick out and hear each individual instrument while everything's going on," says producer Beinhorn. "Considering how dense the recording is, how thick it is and how many instruments are playing at any given time, it's pretty remarkable."
Korn's fifth album is tentatively scheduled for release in early March via Immortal/Epic.
