AOL Launches "All Metallica" Station

By popular request, the #1 AOL Radio Network* today announced that it has added the All Metallica station to its lineup of best-of breed programming offerings and exclusive All Artist stations. Now available, the station boasts a playlist of every song ever released by one of the world’s best and most influential hard rock bands.
Metallica’s Kirk Hammett said, “This great station gives our fans an opportunity to hear songs that they don’t usually hear on the radio, like obscure B-sides, live stuff from our last tour, and other deep album cuts. After all, there’s more to Metalli-life than ‘Enter Sandman’!”
Adding to an array of Artist spotlight stations, including All Led Zepplin, All Ozzy, All Green Day, All Ramones, All Pearl Jam, All Yes and many others, All Metallica also features rare, live tracks from the band’s 2004 “Madly in Anger with the World Tour.” Fans will be able to link to purchase those tracks from livemetallica.com, directly from the AOL Radio player.
"Metallica is one of the most revered Rock bands the world has ever known, and AOL Radio's All Metallica is truly a station that our audience demanded," said Jack Isquith, Executive Director of Record Label Relations for AOL Music. "For the last two years, there has not been a week that we did not we receive multiple e-mails from our listeners requesting an All Metallica station. We have been thrilled to work so closely with the band to give the fans what they’ve been asking for. All Metallica comes just as we unveil AOL Radio for all fans free on the web, and we are tremendously excited for the world to hear the depth and passion for Rock that All Metallica, and AOL Radio, delivers."
The All Metallica station is the first network station launch since AOL Radio went live on the web last week, as part of the new AOL.com portal. The AOL Radio Network’s programming is now available 24/7 for non-AOL members and members alike at AOL.com and aolmusic.com. In addition to being found under the Artist Spotlight category on AOL Radio, Metallica fans can also access the 24/7 stream at metallica.com.

my god, jude you are a f***ing moron! metallica owns slayer any day of the week ( i think slayer is the sh**, but i would fricking die for tallica) and there is no way you should even say metallica is like the backstreet fags. Metallica has always been metal, they have never sold out, but after 22 years, you start to branch out to different forms of music, and try to conquer new territory. Just because someone trys new things doesnt make them a sellout.

I like the sound of the "All Slayer" and "Everything Before the Black Album" stations.
And, yeah, Metallica have paid their dues so they're entitled to branch in any f***in direction they want. Just because I don't like it doesn't amount to a hill of sh**... No Life Til ...Justice.

you are just mad because your band can't get 20 people to come see you guys play in your fat uncle joey's garage on fiday nights and your manager at burger king just told you to stop singing papa roach songs into the cash register microphone during slow time, whether you will admit it or not,you too would write the style of songs that metallica are writing now if that HUGE f***ING$$$$$$$$$$$ check was layed on the table in front of you.

metallica is one of my all time favorite bands. but i would still have to pick SLAYER instead of Metallica. and i don't consider Metallica as ROCK. METAL is very different from ROCK. in rock, there is pop rock, but in metal there is no pop metal. only my opinion...

Thousands of metalheads started listening to metal with entersandman, master of puppets and so on.
No matter what the f*** you say they're the greatest metal band on earth, if you want to listen to the same old s*** you can listen to the first records, if not... well you can try listening to real musicians who are not afraid to have some risk. I respect bands like slayer, anthrax, overkill, kreator, sodom or testament but come on I only one of their albums 'cause the others are all alike.
Respect everyone's opinion, this is just one, mine.

Metallica has no fear in being themselves. That's what makes them great! They took a chance and changed somethings, but they're still the best!
They're not sellouts. Think of all the bands that would still be in garages if people could download their music for free. Thanks for standing up for the underdog. You guys rock!!

Metallica are the better band, by far.... but Slayer like Megadeth stayed more true longer. I would like for Metallica to make an album based on nothing going on in music today little or no trend influence.
Load/Reload = grunge.
St.Anger = nu-metal/dirty low-pro garage rock.

the main reason people say Metallica is a bunch of sell outs is because of the video "One" if i remeber right from what James said jus because it aired in Mtv now if i remember correctly ive seen a Slayer video in Mtv now does that mean their sell outs too. No!. anywayne an all metallica station f*** that all the f***en MetallicA i can listen to while im bored online why not!
28. writes:
If anyone thinks Metallica sold out because of a video their just the kind of people who like to latch onto bands BEFORE they become cool or tendy or "in the know"............
Metallica sold out when they made songs that were ----ONE RIFF!!!!------ ...aka "Enter Sandman"....
which, I'll admit was excusable.....but then they went and broke my heart and made "Load" "Reload" and "St Anger"............
It's not like my sentiments on this matter are new or unique!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....
but GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!! talk about a departure....not evolution....DEPARTURE from the sound that made metal what it is today........

The changes in Metallica seemed sudden to all of the fans, but I still see it as an
evolution on some level. The Beatles went psychadelic, Bob Dylan p***ed off a lot of people
when he from folk to rock. Led Zeppelin was criticized when releasing their third album
because it was more folk than rock. All the greats have come to points in their careers where
they just don't feel like doing the same old thing over and over. I know a lot of people felt
betrayed when Metallica released Load/Reload, but for me growing up on classic rock
and blues is what made me appreciate the fact that Metallica could release a bluesy album
and do it well. St. Anger is kind of a mess, though. I would be better if Kirk had done solo's.
I think it's pretty cool not knowing what to expect from Metallica. It gets boring if it's the
same thing over and over again. Until the day they release a hip hop album, I will
look forward to everything they do.

WHO CARES THEY ARE FUKIN SELL OUTS ANYWAYS, MIGHT AS WELL BE BACK STREET BOYS. WHAT ABOUT SLAYER BEING INFLUENTIAL METAL BANDS, SURE THEY MAY NOT HAVE BECOME p***y AND DO sh** FOR THE RADIO, BUT THEY HAVE STAYED 100 PERCENT TRUE TO THEIR STYLE OF MUSIC AND THEIR FANS. AND FOR THAT I WILL LISTEN TO THEM TILL THE DIE I HEAD SOUTH (OF HEAVEN THAT IS).
