According to Australia's Undercover News, SYSTEM OF A DOWN went ahead with their headline performance at Festimad in Madrid, Spain on Saturday night (May 28) despite Mother Nature intervening.

Hours before the performance, 60mph winds blew through the area and literally blew the canvas and metal roof right off the outdoor stage.

The promoters managed to remove the roof and take it away safely and decided to cancel the remainder of the show.

However, the crowd had other plans.

Chants from the 30,000 strong crowd bellowed "We want SYSTEM to play...we want SYSTEM to play" over and over.

Despite the winds, and the show being somewhat delayed, SYSTEM OF A DOWN took to the stage at around 3:45 and played through until 5:00.

Regardless of what Mother Nature dished up, no-one left. The 30,000 fans stayed until SOAD finished their performance.

wow. that's pretty scary to play in a wind with that kind of speed. luckily not all of them have long hair so it won't cover their faces.

How cool is that? What kind of band actually plays through a storm that removed a metal roof? And the fans are a bunch of troopers, shows you what kinda support SOAD gets.

P.S. Kurt Cobain is just a fad, but Nirvana did make some good music.

Cobain wasn't a fad, he just shouldn't be held as a god either.

Nothing Nirvana did was revolutionary (Revolutionary = Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Black Sabbath, Metallica), they just came along at rock musics most stale moment and fixed things for awhile.

What made Cobain so fixating was his song writting skill and lyrics. Those were truely one of a kind. He was a decent guitarist, neither great nor shabby. And Nirvana CRUSHED hair metal, exposing it for the sh**ty low lowbrow unthinking, garbage that it was.

More on the subject. Thats was very good of SOAD to go on despite 60mph winds and inclimate weather.

I once watched Sevendust, Cold and Godsmack all play a festival while there was a tornado watch going on but I don't think the wind and rain was as fierce 60mph. I think Bush (the so-so post-grunge band) played during a tropical thunderstorm once for a small crowd, which took some balls as well.
