System of a Down Drop F-Bomb On 'Saturday Night Live'

Bill Hutchinson of the New York Daily News is reporting that SYSTEM OF A DOWN got one over on "Saturday Night Live" last night.
When the group performed "B.Y.O.B" from their new album "Mezmerize", the show repeatedly muted the F-word in the line, "Where the f--- are you?" But it missed guitarist Daron Malakian's screeched, "F--- yeah!" toward the end of the number. The camera even focused on him as he said it.
Fans of the group immediately hailed the move on SYSTEM OF A DOWN's web site, with one noting, "The censors missed at least one 'f--- you.' Which was nice."
The band performed a second number, "Aerials", from their "Toxicity" album, without incident.
"SNL" traditionally doesn't use a tape delay. NBC did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

it's harmless. It's not an attempt to be vulgar, he just got caught up in the enrgry that comes with performing live.
Like Bono when he said "f***ing brilliant", he was happy and got caught up in the moment. To praise SOAD/SNL or come down on them for this kind of thing is to be one of those mindless idiots who go full force into some "here today gone tomorrow" cause.
The words that are forbidden to be spoken on TV are the same ones your fourth grade nephew is blasting on his playground while on the monkey bars at school.
If your fourth grader was watching snl he's probably so used to the word he probably didnt even flinch....Unlike all these adults whose world shutters when they hear it....
"oh my virgin ears, oh my baby heard that i'm calling the nbc affiliate" is their response, when someone says something like this..... but the language their using in bed with their husband/wife bf/gf etc. is 8 times more vulgar. and at least half the time your kid is hearing that too!!!
everyone who gets bent out of shape over simple language uttering is a hypocrite, oblivious to the world and have long forgotten about being 8 years old and using these words with their friends when parents weren't in earshot.
idiots.

So what.It was on Saturday Night Live which air's after 11:30 pm.If your kid's up at that time and they are below the age of 15.Then Saturday Night Live is the least of their problem's.This is why the far right get's away with saying Hollywood and not Parent's.This is how the columbine parent's got the idea to blame the Matrix. If this kind of sh** will cause your kid to become a bad person then you know what ? You'r kid was f***ed up way before he saw it or heard it or whatever.Just for the record the conservatives tend to attack the intertainment industry because the Entertainment industry has allway's been anti concervative. If this were not the case Movies like All the president's men and X would not have gotten made and Ice T would have never released COP KILLER.It was rap Metalt(the best of the genre)the only place you can hear that song today is on the web.

They even had a counter in the corner to number how many times the boys said "sh**" but that WAS CABLE TV! Not public, see on cable, you're paying for it, if they were to cendor things on cable and satillite like South Park, Nip/Tuck, The Shield, NYPD Blue and another assload of shows, it wouldn't be right to the consumer who is paying $40 a month to get all of that.

If it werent for trends we wouldnt have metal.
In the short term, trends can be bad or corny or both but that dark and gritty blues rock trend... that ..uhm....help me out....ah yes, metal!...That was pretty cool. Those Black Sabbath guys sure were onto something.
oh, then there was that whole 80's thrash thing...You can debate who made the first thrash song and album (priest, metallica or motorhead...depends on who you ask and how much they know) but it was one of them. Some might say that was a pretty nice trend too, I liked it and it still lives on today.
Without trends we'd all be unable to communicate, clothes and housing would not exist, so we'd be cold naked little chimp-things throwing mastodon sh** from trees at sabertoothed cats and we sure as sh** wouldn't have metal.
One has to establish for themselves what is a good trend (ex. aggression in music) or a bad trend ( ex. a guy with a comb-over flat top calling himself Vanilla Ice and lifting bass lines from classic rock bands)If that can be done than maybe there is hope for us "sheep" yet....
'bahh!'
