Violence Breaks Out At Slipknot Concert In Iowa

Omaha's WOWT is reporting that authorities were called to the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa Friday night (April 29) after violence broke out at a concert featuring the band SLIPKNOT. At least one person was arrested.

There were two levels of tickets for the performance: balcony and floor.

Authorities say that an estimated 200 people rushed security guarding the entrance to the floor. The crowd overpowered security and overcrowded the floor.

Council Bluffs Police, Pottawattamie County Sheriff's deputies and the Iowa State Patrol were all called in to restore order.

One person was stunned by a Taser, arrested and taken to the hospital.

Additional officers were called in early to maintain order.

Approximately 6,000 people were attending the concert.

tasers are great except when u work an ER and find out some idiot used a taser on someone ( a thief, a family member, a friend etc....) and it's stop their heart...

This occurs less than 7% of the time.....but sure enough just under 1 out of 10 people get their heart reset half way and it just flutters uselessly....same thing CAN happen to a taser victim as the schiavo girl, but it is highly unlikely....

Could be worse than taking a bullet......gsw's (gun shot wounds) come in all the time at my hospital and it's almost always a leg, arm or flesh wound from a 9....rarely severe....bone fragements suck...

The taser is the best thing going right now but some cops get carried away with the "zap" butto. What cops need are billy clubs that stun like a cattle prod "WACK!" 1 hit and down....no more secondary and tertiary and more shocks just cus the cop get antsy.

Slipknot fans arent known for being a sedate lot, unless their that new kiddie variety thats come along since...uh...'duality' and 'vermillion'...

dude prolly had it coming.

Cops get dumb at shows. I got tear gassed at an Ozzfest show. there wasnt even anyone doing anything besides moshpits. But then again, sometimes a couple idiots need to be taken down a notch. Taser'd, karate chops, Rodney King'd...every once in awhile some idiot needs to get his due for being a jackass.

i went to a hatebreed show here in AZ that was temporarily stopped due to crowd violence/riot/beating up security gaurds ..... it was the funniest thing ever to see police in the mosh pit ..... about half the crowd was kicked out or arrested ..... it was crazy ...... i saw 4 security gaurds get jumped on the floor at the show ....

I went to a club here in PA, and there was a bouncer while this f***ing awesome metal band (Todesengel) was playing. When the show got f***ing heavy as sh**, the guard tried to break up the moshpit, he got pulled into it and got the sh** kicked out of him! it was sweet, but he did taser 3 kids.
