Godsmack Vocalist to Sing National Anthem
Sully Erna, Godsmack's vocalist, will be singing the "Star Spangled Banner" on May 21st at the "Fest-a-Ball". "Fest-a ball" is an event that is organaized by the Windham Baseball-Softball League and will be held May 21st at Griffen Park in Salem, MA.
In a related event, Ted Nugent sang the "Star Spangled Banner'" this weekend at the NRA convention in Houston, TX

oh just so all the good people know im changing name, i was derailthetrain...but i'm not to thrilled with the name now that that train in japan really did derail and kill a bunch of innocent peoples the name isn't quite as funny to me.....plus marla (fightclub )fits me...i look like a younger, shorter,skinnier version of her with regretably smaller assets...poor me.

Yes, Tom Delay has screwed up big time. See, it's different for me because I live in Texas, and he's the one who decided to change the districts for the whole states(because he wanted more power), mostly West Texas, due to "population changes" and this whole area got screwed, the only representation we have is Lubbock, and they're a college town, so like the Senate and Congess is going to pay attention to the cotton and peanut farmers out here!
Ok, my feeling is that Ted Kennedy is a better senator than Tom Delay, and that's saying alot by me.

Alot of the state isn't behind him now after this whole Ethics debacle. Quite a few Republicans are mad at him now because of the scandal of his money spending, but few have actually said anything. The few that have said things are asking for his resignation. Currently, there is a trial going on here that involves some friends of Mr. Delay, and once their trials are concluded, most assuredly, the state would charge him or at least do another investigation.
Democrats hate him, now they hate him even more. Can't blame them much either.

godsmack is just an average junky nu metal band. the only thing noticable about them is sully's utter lack of skill when it comes to writing lyrics. as far as i can tell, he's really only written 2 songs which consist of repeating either "get away from me" or "you lied to me".
also, who gives a sh** about the f***ing anthem? oh wait, i bet you guys are the type that enjoys sitting in lawnchairs in your backyard waving flags. go learn something about politics you pseudo-patriot suv driving f***s.

here's the thing, i'm very glad i am an american because we have it way better than anywhere else, however, the national anthem stands for everything i hate (the false freedoms, the hollow gestures of our govt, etc). now that that's out of the way, godsmack is lame. i had a friend that liked them, but he outgrew that lame sh** when he turned 12. their lyrics are so f***ing stale, and as far as metal goes, there is way better stuff out there. to me, nu metal is far less metal than it is mainstream rock. they're the same f***ing genre as creed! open your f***ing eyes!

heh....Well the song structures are similar....Themes are a world apart though....Skill wise though the 2 bands are almost equal....Godsmacks new drummer is f***ing fantastic though...Shannon Larkin is way beyond his band mates playing skill....They even admit to it in interviews, it's kinda funny.
Godsmack don't have the best lyrics, in my opinion anyway.....Some of it is just clumsy. But I'll say this for Erna, he has charisma. Even when they were a nothing $5 bar band he carried himself like he owned the whole damn neighborhood, and his voice was a compelling then as now.
I dont even own any Godsmack albums, their just not my thing....But they have my respect, their stuff has a timeless feeling to it....Not a 100 years down the line timeless, but their songs will survive the 10 and 20 year test i think.

Their old stuff could be considered hard rock, but after that "With Arms Wide Open" sh*t, forget it. I'm glad they've broken up, Alter Bridge is doing way better, they don't have that egotistical Scott Stapp and his attitude holding them down anymore.
