Miozän Releasing New Album "Surrender Denied"

The German hardcore veterans from Miozän are back after nearly sixteen years away from the recording studio. Founded in 1991, Miozän soon took the underground hardcore scene by storm with first demo tape “Offer Resistance,” which has since then gained a cult status among hardcore enthusiasts.

In 2001, after releasing "Thorn in Your Side," the group disbanded and went out to start new musical projects like Souls On Fire, I Defy ,and Cracks & Scars. Eight years later the group reunited just to play a special show in Leipzig to celebrate the 40th anniversary of an old companion and roadie. The spark was there, yet it wasn’t enough to ignite the fire to write new songs and tour again.

It was only in 2014, when Miozän played a special show to celebrate the reopening of Juze-Walsrode club, that founding members Frank and Kuddel decided to bring back the band and put together a new record.

For various reasons, the duo couldn’t count with the help of their original line-up so they recruited Kniffel and Tomek for guitars and drums, respectively. Recorded and mixed by Eike Freese and Alex Dietz, new effort “Surrender Denied” successfully manages to recapture the spirit and sound present in those early days and sees Miozän pouring a strong and critical message over some pummeling rhythms and furiously heavy riffs.
