2017 Marks Return Of Morbid Angel With New Album Planned
Legendary Florida death metal act Morbid Angel has signed on with UDR Music for the band's upcoming new release (as of yet untitled), which is set to drop in 2017.
The album is the first since the departure of vocalist/bassist David Vincent and re-joining of Steve Tucker (Warfather) in 2015.
The only confirmed members are Tucker and band leader/guitarist Trey Azagthoth. The album will be the first full length since the polarizing 2011 release "Illud Divinum Insanus" (reviewed here).
As for the direction of the new album, in a 2015 interview with Jet, Steve Tucker expressed his desires: "All I know is I'm back in Morbid Angel to do a death metal album. I mean, I expect the album to be full-on death metal. I mean, I expect there to… Obviously, it's a Morbid Angel album, there'll be twists and turns on the album, there'll be stuff that's different, but I think it being aggressive and it being underground is really what it's gonna be about. I think that Morbid Angel is a death metal band, and that's what this album — this next one — will be."
Stay tuned for more information.
