Dawn Release First In Four Years

Swedish blackened death metal vets Dawn are currently working hard to finish their yet-untitled new album, their first in four years since their last album, Slaughtersun.

Here is the rest:

Set to be recorded in Abyss Studios from May to July 2002, the new Dawn album is said to be "marked by a permanent quest for new sonic landscapes and contemporary musical techniques," according to a posting at Swedishmetal.net.

Guitarist Fredrik Söderberg recently had this to say regarding his band's forthcoming album: "We have been playing Death/Black metal for a long time, and quality instead of quantity is something really important. We like to keep experimenting with new equipment, which I consider an essential evolution. You have to try out new things as a musician. I also have found a perfect lineup for Dawn, which took a long time to find. Most of the time during the last two years has also been focused on finding the musical direction on the upcoming album. The new stuff implies a lot of new innovations, as well as a number of classic Dawn elements that will satisfy most of the stalwart Dawn fans."
