70000 Tons of Metal - The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise

"some music was meant to stay underground..."

XM Pulls Only Metal Station, "Liquid Metal"

XM Satellite services have pulled Liquid Metal (42) off the air. It will remain on XM's online service. According to fans of the service, they yanked the station "in the dead of night, with no announcement until after the fact." XMLM was a key way for obscure (and not so obscure) metal bands to get heard nationally. Compared to the satellite option, sources say that XM's online service is significantly inferior in the following ways: you have to be "chained" to a computer to listen to it; the audio quality of the online service is far inferior to the regular satellite service - it's only 64kbps (far from the "CD-like quality" of the satellite service); there will be no live DJs on the online service - just preprogrammed music; the online service costs $3.99 per month on top of the regular $9.99 per month fee for the regular satellite service - you pay MORE for a less useful, lower quality service.

Fans are to send their complaints via email - liquidmetal@xmradio.com, phone - 866.466.9656 or snail mail - XM Radio, 1500 Eckington Place, NE, Washington, DC 20002.

Wow. Granted I don't have XM Satellite radio, but that's f***in bullsh**. Why does it seem like metal fans keep getting f***ed over? I mean, who remembers MTV X? Granted it wasn't all metal, but it was the closest we could get. Now all we got is two hours every Saturday night. Such bullsh**.

AAAAAAWWWWWWW FFFFFUUUUU****KKKK!!!!. it's just another bullsh*t attempt at keeping a category of music and a lifestyle shared by millions down. it's FU*KING OPPRESSION!!!. THE GO*DAMNED MEDIA STILL THINKS THEY CAN CONTROL SH*T BY ELIMINATING OUR SOUCES. they need to accept that metal has as many fans as any other form of music. they need to know that we arent gonna go away just because they wont play the music we want to hear. FU*K THOSE IDIOTS FOR NOT ACCEPTING US. FU*K ALL THE MOTHERFU*KERS WHO TRTY TO SAY METAL IS DANGEROUS. and thats probably the main reason sh*t like this happens, they think they know whats better for the masses when they really don't know SH*T!!! this is just another sad,sad episode in the evolution of music, and the attempted genocide of metal. FU*K THEM. HIMMM!!!!

Yeah, it sucks. My new car came with an XM-ready radio, and I hoped to be able to check out the metal station some day. Guess I won't waste my $$ on it now...

Does Sirius Sat. Radio still have their metal station?

As I can recall, it was either Sirius or XM that had a metal station called the Boneyard.

I can't remember. I think it was XM though.

Corporate fu<;king A55HOLES! They're probably going to replace it with some BULLSHlT crap-hop channel. Even though most metal belongs underground, there still needs to be a way to get newer fans exposed to real metal.

AGREED, BRANDED, as i said in post 5, it's opression, plain and simple. although i do still support my country, this IS a perfect example of big brother trying to tell us what to do and how to live. don't smoke pot.....don't smoke tobacco.....don't drink........dont dive into the pit....... don't listen to metal.......don't have weapons to protect yourself and your family....don't ask for more money when they ask you to do more work......watch your back cause they can hire immigrants to do your job for half the cost....don't live the american dream because it scares the government.....don't do ANYTHING UNLESS THEY TELL YOU TO...FU*K ALL THAT!!! i back up certain things the government does such as the war against terror, but not a whole hell of a lot more than that, and there is only so far an individual can be pushed until he completely rebels. your are 100% right, branded, this is just another casualty in the attempted genocide of metal and the total control of everything everybody does. I know, I'm being a Benedict Arnold right now, but baseball is in my bloodstream along with metal.
