I love the new record i was worried because of how the singles were but after actually hearing the album i was amazed. BTBAM has never put out a bad album i dont know why i doubted them at first. It has everything a fan would want plus more its epic, its weird, its heavy, its another masterpiece 10/10 from me.

A non-stop musical ride. As usual, it's extremely dense and I find I need to be in the right mood to really enjoy the band, but boy does it ever hit the spot when the mood strikes.

Another excellent album from some very talented dudes.

Club X's is an awful venue. I've paid to see too many shows that never happened there, usually due to the club owners lack of preparation. I'm tempted to roll the dice again.

This album is awesome! I've lost track of how many times I've listened to this stream. The Ectopic Stroll is a fav, but the whole album is truly epic.

Review Mode:
Many elements familiar to fans of Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree, Tool, Dillinger Escape Plan, and even Muse throughout.

The first three songs fill the dam with pent-up energy so the next three songs can gleefully spill it everywhere, channeling it in different ways. Great tension building and release.

Tons of characteristic BTBAM roaring heaviness and density in the middle and end. Many, great guitar leads all over and the hooks will stay with you. Drastic and even surprising style changes but it always manages to work, unlike recent off-putting in-song transitions from say... recent Opeth.

BTBAM fans should snap this one up. 9/10 from me.

Winners: "The Coma Machine", "Famine Wolf", "Turn on the Darkness", "Memory Palace", "Option Oblivion", "Life in Velvet"

Honorable Mention: "King Redeem Queen Serene", "Ectopic Stroll"

Hah! Thanks Blindgreed1.

As it happens, I'll be getting those both at the same time too. I love all three new songs and I'm dying to hear the ones with Greg from Dillinger and Chino from Deftones.

I've been on a bit of metal hiatus but I've been pulled back from the abyss by the likes of Swallow the Sun, Augury, Beyond Creation, Fallujah, Allegaeon, and now... BTBAM.

I'm really surprised, how much I'm diggin' this. I was never big on these guys, as solid as they are. But Dim Ignition makes me feel good for some reason, and that opened up some sort of flood gate in my head, that was blocking their awesome from me. Something between the buried and me,.....if you will.........I didn't set myself up properly for that lol.
Anyway, good sh!t.

"Colors" is a great record (some would even call it a modern classic) if given a fair chance.

I used to find BTBAM's clean and harsh vocals a bit too... I'm going to use the word "youthful" now, but I think "adolescent-sounding" was my defense for not liking them. But I apparently got over it several years ago.

The two "Parallax" albums have some incredible moments too.

Yea, I've listened to the first Parallax, and Colors, and actually learned some vocal stuff for some tracks off Alaska, but they were never my thing. Selkies: The Endless Obsession is definitely a favorite song off Alaska though RM. I didn't really do the whole progressive, long track length thing for a while, either. But not that I'm older and I've listen to a lot more variety, I can go back and appreciate the older stuff, but I am LOVING this new record lol.

I saw these guys two days ago in Dallas, and got to meet the dudes on their bus - they're really down-to-earth.

Really digging the new album. These guys are one of the few bands that are continuing to really impress me with every new release.

10/10
