man every diehard metallica fan knows that as soon as one was released on video they started going down the tubes. james said at a concert in the 80's when metallica was touring with ratt and bon jovi "if you wanna see bands with makeup and the word ''oh baby'' in every other sentence this aint the f***ing one" but what do they do now " this house is clean baby" wtf is that? blackalbum, load, reload st.anger are all sh**.

Lost the fire in their belly....putting out a video isnt the end of the world, but it was the beginning of the end for Metallica though...everything of theirs between RTL to AJFA are studio perfection......but if i hear "saint anger 'round my neck" one more time ill probably s#it myself. i miss kirks solos too...whatever happened to those...guess james put an end to that...why is kirk even there??? to mumble back up vox on sh**ty st. anger tracks and play the same rhythem riff as james
GOD!!!!!
does anyone on this forum remember Call of the Ktulu or Sanitarium or Master of puppets absolutely inspired material....nothing can touch that stuff...nothing....
I understand that Metallica dont want to tread the path they already helped make but all they've been is a second rate Alice In chains (Load/Reload) and a 3rd rate Korn (st anger) and Queen?!?!? (S&M) heh....anyway...this is prolly the first thing i've said that truely makes any real sense since i've been posting...is anyone with me on this stuff? whats their best song? album? in yer humble opinions? thanks all..yer good peeps..

Kill 'Em All and RTL are my personal favourites. Back in the day they would get hammered and then write their music, But it wouldn't go by until Cliff gave the heads up. You listen to AJFA and most of the songs are very linear and sound the same, except To Live is to Die> which is a collection of Riffs that cliff wrote anyways. So when ""Jaymz"" took the reigns metallica was f***ed. The music sounded to much of the same and there wasn't metal bands back then that they looked up too were they could get Inspiration out of so they went Hard Rock and Hetfield changed into a Skid, A Trucker. I remember last time I wentto a metallica concert I wore a custom shirt hat said "Play like it's 1983" and threw a Motorhead Cd onstage, james kinda looked at it and paused but soon forgot about it.
Personal Favourite songs; Metal Militia, Hit The Lights, Trapped Under Ice, Orion.

Can none of you accept what a band has done?
Do you forget that it's their creative clay to mold and not yours?
IF YOU HEAR CRAPPY MUSIC YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR ALL OF YOU TO SHUT UP AND INSTEAD OF BASH SOMEONE'S MUSIC, GO OUT AND MAKE YOU OWN MUSIC!

fu-ck the black album. dont get me wrong....i love metallica, if it wasnt for them there wouldnt be any of the bands that are out right now (i.e. Lamb of God, Chimaira, Shadows Fall...ect.) but after And Justice For All they just got greedy. There are no hardcore, thrash metal songs on that entire album. Nothing off the black album or any of their releases since then can even compare to Kill Them All, Master or even And Justice...at least they still put on one badass show!!!

I agree with johnson in the respect that the black album is wheir they changed and yes their live show is still killer no filler . However I still can't bring myself to not like them just because they realized how much money they could make . Sure some of the stuff they've done lately is a little light in the a$$ for them but they still kick a$$ . Look at it this way , your in one of the most popular band's of a certain time frame you realize that you could be the biggest band out their . Then come to realize the key to ultimate success in the music/entertainment industry is longevity and to achieve that you must unfortunately water down your style and make it a little more easily accessible so that other non thrash fans will buy the record's tickets dvd etc . It might be selling out but it's their decision to make . I can't get mad at that . In the end how many of us would'nt have done the same thing . I made jokes about mansion's sport's car's and high maintenance women on the slipknot feed that does not mean I don't wan't them .

i think what in reality happened to metallica is that just like kiss, they realised that yes we do rule over all ( Before Load-st Anger era) and so why not experiment a little and see what the fans think, this however got a 50-50 response and so they thought well at least half the people accepted it and it sold more than our previous albums y not keep be inventive and so we had reload st anger, which have sold quite well. Greed is part of human nature you can go years thinking ill never sell out ill never give in but as soon as u realise uve got a maassive fanbase, millions of dollars, just about every possesion youve ever wanted, i gues u start to realise hey i dun give a fuk about fans i think ill please myself for once and do whatever the hell i want. Metallica are only humans.....filthy fukin rich humans but still if u have what they do would care about wot people u dont know think about u or woudl you even keep making music after your contract has ended and you made you millions..probably not. What i guess everyone forgets is teh plain logic in the whole issue of metallica that just like kiss as i said they came they seen they conquored and now they dun give a fuk as long as teh moolah keeps rolling in. Every band they reaches there level and mainstream exposure will sell out. It all about the money. sorry i havnt really gone anywhere in this commnet just trying show that metallica dont suck balls in lack of skill or talent ( well maybe james voice of late and recruitment of rob) there just doing what bring in the moni ...theve already gained the fans ( kea-mop....ajfa-black era's) theve done everything a band coudl do now there just growing old and making sure there set for life as none of them have any sort of employment to bak em up...think bout it if metallica had failed would any of them actually be succsessfull in the working world probably not.there doin what they need to do for their familes and for themselves. ill stop now

i'm not saying i wouldnt fall into the same greed pitfalls as metallica, im almost certain i would....but for the long term fans 2 or 3 tracks an album of "tried and true old school thrash" metallica would have been a good way to keep the peace with old fans and still woo the mainstream folks. what do all think? alot of other bands have had the presence of mind to remember those first 5 to 50,000 fans who came to the show, wore the patches and spread the word on the streets before mtv...what do u all think?

AGREED !!! You've got an outstanding point . I have a sneaking suspition that this is what was being attempted with the title track of the last album and although I liked ST.ANGER I gotta go with everyone else . NO DICE !!! They still kick a$$ though . I'm looking for atleast another 10 to 15 years from the boy's .

finally I see metallica among the biggest names in american mainstream music.
The black album is a classic no doubt, hopefully Load will be remembered in the same way. Can't understand why u hard-ons keep up the fat over their older and thrashier sh** - fine if don't like their new stuff, but seems like the majority of people do - blow a goat!

yeah....... "wheres the metal?" dont even TRY to pass off metallica as metal unless they can patch up the bleeding wound that IS...heh..."ST anger round my neck" i still giggle when i hear that song... AudioSlave and Velvet Revolver represent hard rock pretty well, but not metal...hehe greenday are pretty much the founding fathers of modern pop-punk tied with the offspring on that one....no metal there....

mr rogers and barney should have had dimmuu borgir and Gorgoroth as live musical guests on his show that would have been awesome
or on scooby doo, where the main characters would run around from the villain toward the end of the show and you'd get that grade D pop music that wasnt even popular at the time playing wouldnt it be awesome if they played cradle of filth or dillinger escape plan or something completely disonant and heavy like some ol school 90's death metal...that would be great
I'm going to drive about 70 miles due south find that chicken pen i saw from the interstate and kill every single rooster and hen i can find with the tire iron i keep in my car...ill let u all know how it goes if i dont get shot at again or worse arrested...explaining myself to cops is so hard....and broing too, their bad listeners...they dont want to hear about your childhood, or drug problems or alcohalism...nothing they just give u that scared look and keep their hands on their clubs, mace and guns...pusssys....
i wanna fukk that new guitarist for kitty that chick is hot as all hell....she looks like a blonde version of an old gf....damn...
ok killing chickens bye good people..

OMG besides metallica, I really hate every other artist in that list. And to top that, it's one of metallica's lesser albums!! Where is this world coming to?
