You should already know, but if not, check out this site to see what the upcoming Chimaira "The Dehumanizing Process" DVD is all about, and to pre-order this piece and receive a special Chimaira t-shirt.

That being said, there are some screenings set up around this release. As follows:

1. CLEVELAND: Though not open to the public, some lucky contest winners have already been selected. This Saturday (10/16) Chimaira will be at the Odeon in Cleveland showing their DVD to fans and some press cats. All starts at 5pm.

2. NYC: Not open to the public, BUT, you can enter for a chance to be there by going here. Chimaira's Mark Hunter and Jim LaMarca will be hitting NYC next week for a 2nd screening of the DVD. It will be held at Duff McKagan's NYC bar, Snitch, and starts at 6pm this coming Tuesday (10/19).

3. ATLANTA: TOTALLY OPEN TO ALL.
Where: The Masquerade
Address: 695 North Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Time: 8pm
Date: Wednesday October 27
Will be held in Purgatory (middle level of the club)

Um, metalcore does not equal mallcore. Their vocalist is just fine and ever since the music got heavier with the latest album, the hardcore sounding vocals are less prominent anyway. But I think they've improved all around anyway.

Ill probably be checking out this DVD. I haven't seen them live, but heard they are f***in good. I read in Metal Hammer magazine that Chimaira reminds Kerry King of Slayer's younger days. Hows that for a compliment......Chimaira is a pretty sweet band. I love their sound, and cannot stop listening to The Impossibility of Reason.

I know metalcore doesn't explicitly mean mallcore, but Mark Hunter's vocal style (particularly the 'I hate everyone' refrain of Pure Hatred) makes him sound like a little mallcore tryhard having a temper tantrum - that's my opinion, and I stand by it.

And Slayer's younger days sh** on Chimaira from a great height, regardless of what Kerry says.
