Vision Of Disorder Announces Charity Show

Today Vision of Disorder has announced that all the proceeds from the band's upcoming headlining concert in Brooklyn later this month will be donated to the Red Cross, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

What was simply a headlining show for the band has now been dubbed “Picking Up Change: Hardcore For Hurricane Relief.” Vision of Disorder initiated this act of support to the band's community after witnessing the catastrophic demolition across the New York metropolitan area and beyond as Sandy surged through the region on October 29th.

VOD, as well as the other bands performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 24th, will contribute donations to the Red Cross to help aid the decimated areas and many displaced local residents throughout the Northeast as the season grows colder. In a collective statement the members of VOD had this to say:

“Our hearts go out to those severely affected by this tragic incident. Being from Long Island, Hurricane Sandy has (quite literally) hit home for us. The music scene in Long Island, The New York metro area and New Jersey have been so supportive to VOD over the years that we felt donating the proceeds from the Brooklyn show was a no-brainer. We are proud to announce that the opening acts (Primitive Weapons, Yuppicide, Swarm of Arrows) have also agreed to donate their proceeds. We hope that this small gesture can add to the ongoing efforts and help rebuild these traumatized areas. We look forward to seeing you all on Nov 24th to support this cause.”

In addition to the funds generated by Vision of Disorder, Yuppicide, Primitive Weapons, and Swarm of Arrows at “Picking Up Change: Hardcore For Hurricane Relief” going directly to the Red Cross, show attendees are invited to bring supplies – canned/nonperishable food, batteries, toilet paper, etc. -- for area shelters and food banks, as donation bins will be posted outside of the venue. Supplies to aid pets and animals displaced by the storm are also acceptable and will be donated to Last Resort Animal Rescue in New Jersey. More...

Yuppicide Streaming New EP

Brooklyn’s legendary hardcore punk outfit, Yuppicide, is proud to announce the release of its first studio album in 14 years, the "American Oblivion" EP, which is out today via Dead City Records. "American Oblivion" can be purchased as a limited-edition CD or 12” vinyl with color booklet including lyrics, rare photos, art and more via the Dead City webstore at this location and digitally through iTunes here.

“Even when the band was apart, I wrote songs for Yuppicide: I'd hear Jesse's voice or Joe's bass,” said Yuppicide guitarist and founding member, Steve Karp. “Once we started working with new drummer Jay, the reunited band got back into songwriting mode quickly and almost too easily - like we never stopped. ‘American Oblivion’ is our very best effort yet, and sums up all our hard work since forming way back in 1988."

Yuppicide will play a CD release show on Sunday, September 30th at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, N.Y. to commemorate the release. The EP is also currently available for streaming in the player below. More...

Yuppicide Streaming New EP's Title Track

Brooklyn’s hardcore punk outfit, Yuppicide, has posted the title track from its upcoming "American Oblivion" EP for streaming on Bandcamp. Check out the song at this location or in the player below. “American Oblivion” is the first song to surface from the band’s six-track effort, due out September 4th on Dead City Records.

Commented vocalist, Jesse KFW Jones, “American Oblivion was a collaboration between guitarist, Steve Karp, and I dealing with how post 9/11 paranoia has become institutionalized in people's lives, and how our civil liberties are being continually striped away. The result is that America is quickly becoming a country more focused on fear than on freedom.”

Energized both by the warm reception of the band’s commemorative 2010 double CD, "88-'98 Anthology," and the permanent addition of Jay “Gringo Starr” Rogan on drums, the "American Oblivion" EP marks the first Yuppicide studio effort in 14 years. The release will be available as a limited-edition CD and 12” vinyl with color booklet including lyrics, rare photos, art and more, and digitally through most online retailers. The track listing is:

1. Dead Inside
2. Too Late
3. There's a Line
