In The Casket Disbands, Temple of Set Is Formed

New York death metal band In the Casket has decided to part ways after five years as a band. The band cited creative differences as the reason for the breakup.

The band started out playing throughout the capital district of New York and branched out to playing shows all over the Northeast, opening for many bands including Dying Fetus, Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Watain, Macabre, Lock Up, Jungle Rot, Obituary, Deicide, Fleshgod Apocalypse just to name a few. In The Casket self-released an EP titled "You Could Get Hit by a Truck" in July of 2012, which is available on ReverbNation, iTunes, Amazon MP3, CDBaby, and the Google Play store.

In The Casket vocalist Shawn Rosko has started a new band called Temple of Set, which consists of Shawn on vocals, Jeff Caro (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on guitar, Mike Shudt (Flat Broke, Last Call, Ton of Bricks) on bass, and Kyle Yager (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on drums. The new project is a unique mix of thrash, black metal, and death metal.

Temple of Set will be recording an EP in the coming months and has some upcoming shows planned within the next few months. More information about Temple of Set can be found on the band's Facebook and Twitter profiles.

In The Casket Announces Lineup Changes

New York's In The Casket has issued the following announcement about lineup changes within the band:

"We may as well let everyone know what is going on with the band since we made some changes. We have parted ways with our bass player Joe, it was a mutual decision and he is leaving the band on good terms with no hard feelings on either side. Joe is really busy now and just doesnt have the time.

"Kyle has moved over to bass to replace Joe so we no longer have a keyboard and third guitar, so we are looking for a full time keyboardist. We had our first practice with Kyle on bass last night and he will be playing his first show with us on bass this coming Tuesday at The Loft in Poughkeepsie with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Kataklysm, Vital Remains, Rose Funeral, and Necroptic Engorgement (Music Page).

"Kyle is more comfortable playing bass so it was the natural thing to do. We want to thank Joe for his time in the band and he will be missed."

Last night was an amazing show that we were so glad to be a part of. getting to share the stage withe metal legends like the great guys in Lock Up as well as Goatwhore and Strong Intention was amazing. Not to mention the sick regional bands Necroptic Engorgement, Tyranize, and Mythology, every band was amazing and it was an unforgettable night.

Last night was also our first night with Kyle on keyboards and third guitar and we couldnt have been happier with how it went. The feedback on the addition was awesome and we cannot wait to get into the studio in a few weeks to get new material out there with Kyle on it.

We are hard at work booking shows and we have some sick ones coming up. We will be playing on some big metal and hardcore fests this summer and traveling to some new areas. We just recently were added on a fest in Maine and another in Alabama, so hopefully some of you not from the Northeast can come check us out. In The Casket Announces Sixth Band Member

New York death metal band In The Casket has made an announcement about a new/returning band member as well as an update on their next release. Here it is straight from the band:

"All of us from In the Casket want to welcome a 6th member to the band, we recently brought in Kyle Hendrickson to fill multiple roles in the band. Kyle will be focusing on keyboard as well as third guitar. We have been working for the last month to get everything ready so Kyle can play his first show with us in Feb 2012. We have been considering bringing in keyboards for a while but it was hard since not every one of our songs will play nice with keyboard, this is why Kyle is a perfect addition since he can also play guitar when keyboard isnt needed. Kyle is not new to In the Casket though, he is an old friend and he played 2nd guitar with us in 2009 and also rcorded and played bass tracks on the 2009 EP. Besides playing with ITC in the past Kyle has also played in Wasteform, Balls Deep, and other notable 518 metal bands.

"We also have an actual website now for anyone that hasn't checked it out, it can be found at inthecasket518.com and we have a bunch of free downloads on the audio page. We are also very excited for some of the upcoming shows in 2012 as well as other big news we will be announcing as soon as we are allowed to. We go into the studio in Feb also and will be releasing a 5 track - 35 minute album in the spring and then another one before the end of the year that will be longer. We hope to see many people out at the upcoming shows, lately the turnouts have been awesome and we appreciate everyone that supports us! Keep an eye out on are sites for new info and news that will be coming soon! Merry Christmas to everyone as well and prepare for 2012!"
