New York death metal band In the Casket has decided to part ways after five years as a band. The band cited creative differences as the reason for the breakup.
The band started out playing throughout the capital district of New York and branched out to playing shows all over the Northeast, opening for many bands including Dying Fetus, Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Watain, Macabre, Lock Up, Jungle Rot, Obituary, Deicide, Fleshgod Apocalypse just to name a few. In The Casket self-released an EP titled "You Could Get Hit by a Truck" in July of 2012, which is available on ReverbNation, iTunes, Amazon MP3, CDBaby, and the Google Play store.
In The Casket vocalist Shawn Rosko has started a new band called Temple of Set, which consists of Shawn on vocals, Jeff Caro (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on guitar, Mike Shudt (Flat Broke, Last Call, Ton of Bricks) on bass, and Kyle Yager (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on drums. The new project is a unique mix of thrash, black metal, and death metal.
Temple of Set will be recording an EP in the coming months and has some upcoming shows planned within the next few months. More information about Temple of Set can be found on the band's Facebook and Twitter profiles.
