Today, Broken Hope teamed up with Loudwire.com to bring you the most terrific and horrific of metal releases hitting stores in 2013! The band’s highly-anticipated new album, "Omen Of Disease," is streaming in full now at this location. "Omen Of Disease" is now available directly from Century Media here, as well as in stores and all major digital retailers.

Guitarist Jeremy Wagner commented: "October 1st is here and it's one of the greatest days of my life as 'Omen of Disease' is officially released to the world. This album is a huge triumph of death-metal determination and I'm ecstatic to see this day come. Shaun, Damian, Mike, and Chuck are the best collaborators I could wish for, and we made the sickest death-metal album we could muster. I hope everyone digs 'Omen of Disease' and also the companion-disc, 25th Anniversary DVD featuring the Broken Hope documentary. It all, for only the sick."

"Omen of Disease" features cover artwork painted by world-renowned horror artist Wes Benscoter, best known for his work with Slayer, Cattle Decapitation, Autopsy and Kreator. The album marks the first new music from Broken Hope in 15 years. The album was recorded between two studios: drums at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI, with engineer Chris Wisco (Lazarus A.D., Jungle Rot, Origin, Gorgasm), and the rest at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL, with engineer Scott Creekmore (Dirge Within, Lividity). Broken Hope Posts "The Docking Dead" Clip

Broken Hope and Bloody-Disgusting.com are pleased to premiere the brand new static video for the band’s track "The Docking Dead," cut from upcoming album "Omen Of Disease," due out October 1st on Century Media Records (September 30th in Europe). Watch the video below.

Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner says: "I began penning words for Broken Hope 25 years ago, and my approach has never changed... I still create the most horrific, insane, and repulsive lyrics my mind can conjure. ‘The Dociking Dead’ is no exception to my long list of nasty flash-fiction. Many of my ideas start with a 'what if' scenario.

"In the case of ‘The Docking Dead,’ I asked myself, what if a Re-Animator-like scientist attempted to harvest human foreskins from male corpses using an experimental re-agent and growth hormone--and in doing so, he started a zombie apocalypse? That's all I needed to write the lyrics to this song. Zombies, dead penile tissue, death metal, and grind are what's in store when you hear--and read--our newest preview song, ‘The Docking Dead'." Broken Hope Offering Free Song Download

Everyone loves free music, including Broken Hope! Today, the band is sharing a brand new track with fans, cut from upcoming album "Omen Of Disease," out October 1st on Century Media Records.

The track, entitled "Ghastly," is available for free download now at the official Century Media website here. Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner says:

"I'm really excited to have ‘Ghastly’ released as a free download for the world - our gift to you. I have to say, ‘Ghastly’ is one of my favorite tracks from the Omen Of Disease album! As I wrote the music on this song, I took riffs I'd been saving for a while, combined them with new death metal ideas, and sewed the whole thing together to make for one of our sickest and most relentless musical tracks. Lyrically, I wrote about an unfortunate person who was born so physically repulsive from head-to-toe/inside-and-out, that the mere sight of the hideous form could almost blind and nauseate you. Like a Gorgon, but even more horrific. Hence the line: 'Ghastly...a horrid blight upon the eyes.' With ‘Ghastly’ and ‘The Flesh Mechanic’, I think these tunes will give everyone a good idea of what to expect from the entire Omen of Disease album. Enjoy!" More...

Deicide Announces "No Salvation Tour" 2013

Metal icons Deicide are returning to the road this fall on their No Salvation Tour 2013 - a headlining run with fellow Century Media label mates and death metal favorites Broken Hope. Also in support will be Disgorge and Necronomicon.

The tour launches October 2nd in Atlanta, GA, and ends October 24th in Austin, TX. Highlights include a convergence with the Delaware Death Fest October 5th, as well as stops in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Complete dates are listed below.

Deicide will be touring to promote the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled studio release, due out this fall on Century Media Records. The album will be its second for Century Media, and the follow-up to "To Hell With God" in 2011.

Decibel Magazine joined Deicide and producer Jason Suecof in the studio earlier this year, reporting: "Expect a super-brutal blast to the cranium. Longtime fans will pick up on nuances inspired from the almighty Legion effort." With drummer Steve Asheim adding that "we're going to get down and dirty this time around, so expect the lyrics to be brutal."

Broken Hope releases "Omen Of Disease" October 1st, and the album will be its first studio record in nearly 15 years. Disgorge will release a fifth studio album in late 2013 on Unique Leader Records, while Necronomicon is touring in support of "Rise Of The Elder Ones" (reviewed here), released June 10th via Season Of Mist. Broken Hope Unveils New Album Artwork

Broken Hope has unveiled the album cover artwork for the band's new album, "Omen of Disease." The cover painting was created by horror artist, Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Cattle Decapitation, Autopsy, Kreator, etc).

Broken Hope's Jeremy Wagner comments: "Wes Benscoter is one of my favorite artists, EVER. In my opinion, he’s right up there with Frank Frazetta, Michael Whelan, and Todd Schorr. Ever since Benscoter did our Repulsive Conception and Loathing album covers, I've wanted to work with him again. I was beyond thrilled when Benscoter agreed to take on the Omen of Disease project…and he nailed it! He's captured the vile essence, putrid vibe, and apocalyptic, disease-laden horror of Omen of Disease. Thank you for creating another masterpiece, Wes Benscoter."

The "Omen of Disease" album was recorded between two studios: drums were exclusively recorded at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI. with engineer Chris Wisco, and the remaining bulk of the album was completed at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL. with engineer Scott Creekmore. The album is slated for worldwide release in October via Century Media Records. More...

BROKEN HOPE has been one of my favorite bands since I was a young metalhead, it's an absolute honor and pleasure to be a small piece of the action! The best part is that my contribution allowed me to hear a new song before everyone else, and I can proudly say this: They're baaaacccckkk!!!!"

Broken Hope Announces New Album Title

Broken Hope has revealed the title of the band's 6th studio release as "Omen of Disease." The album title - created by chief lyricist, Jeremy Wagner - is also an actual album track, which marks the first official Broken Hope "title track" since the 1991 debut album, "Swamped in Gore."

Jeremy Wagner comments about this upcoming release: "Some time ago, a festering death metal prophecy indicated something sick and brutal was coming back from the dead. The malignant signs became evident when Broken Hope first resurrected from the grave and then went on tour. A more sinister foreboding followed when Broken Hope wrote a new death metal album for the world to hear. Today, I'm a harbinger, here to alert everyone of a 'death metal omen' that is upon us... I speak of the new Broken Hope album, 'Omen of Disease.' The album title itself reeks of a musical offering that is nothing short of gruesome. 'Omen of Disease' will be released to infect everyone worldwide this summer. I promise: this death metal album is a most savage, feral, pestilential, and lethal creation. You've been warned..."

"Omen of Disease" was recorded between two studios: drums were exclusively recorded at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI with engineer Chris Wisco, and the remaining bulk of the album was completed at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL with engineer Scott Creekmore. Broken Hope Issues New Album Update

Chicago death metallers Broken Hope reformed earlier this year to embark on a tour with Obituary and subsequently signed a new record deal with Century Media. The band has now issued the following update about an upcoming album:

"We want to give you all a quick Broken Hope update before the New Year, and we have some exciting news! First, congratulations to Broken Hope's own Shaun Glass on the birth of his first child: Maddux Burton Glass, born Dec 17, 2012. Maddux enters the world just before Christmas and just as Broken Hope is writing the new album!

"Speaking of the new album, we can officially say that we've written 11 songs so far-- and are still trucking along with more material. The new material is so ferocious, we jokingly sum up the vibe of the new music as 'Reign In Bowels' because it's like someone took Slayer's 'Reign In Blood' and mated that intensity and horror with the extremity and sickness of Broken Hope's 'Bowels of Repugnance' album... It's insanely heavy and unrelenting! That said, here's a couple song titles we can release to you all-- chew on these: 'The Flesh Mechanic' and 'Give Me the Bottom Half.' We can't wait for you to hear 'em all! Happy Holidays everyone!"

Broken Hope 2012 is:

Damian Leski - Vocals
Jeremy Wagner - Guitars
Shaun Glass - Bass
Chuck Wepfer - Lead Guitars
Mike Miczek - Drums

I've harbored great appreciation for CM and its stellar roster of artists since '88, and I'm extremely happy and grateful to see Broken Hope become part of the CM family. MDF 2013 Location Announced

With Sonar closing, the location of 2013's Maryland DeathFest XI was up in the air. The organizers have finally announced that the fest will be held in the same location as last year, and will be expanded. Maryland DeathFest XI will take place in Baltimore, Maryland on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, 2013. Tickets go on sale on October 15th at 12 pm (EST). You can read the entire update below:

We're a day early with this announcement, but we can finally let you know where MDF XI will be taking place.

In a nutshell, we will be returning to the property formerly known as Sonar, and will be at least doubling the amount of outside space that we've been used to utilizing. We realize that it's a bit of a mind fuck to wait around for a few months just to hear that the fest is returning to the same place, but truth be told, the other places we looked at were either not able to give us a definite answer anytime soon, and/or had too many inconveniences that we did not want to put the fans through. During the venue search, it was brought to our attention that the new owners of the property were willing to collaborate with us, so we decided to go through with returning to a familiar place that is close to the hotels and conveniences of downtown Baltimore.

The additional space outside will allow us to comfortably accommodate the crowd, and will allow more room for the MDF vendor village, food vendors/food trucks, places to sit, and other new additions like misting tents to escape the possibility of it being hotter than it should be that weekend. There will be two outside stages plus the stage inside. Due to the new configuration outside, the placement of the outside stages will likely be different.
As for the building itself, there are some renovations currently taking place, but the rooms will be used exactly how they have been in the past, and it will be air conditioned throughout.

We would also like to announce the addition of a second inside stage at Baltimore Soundstage, which is a 1/2 mile walk away from the former Sonar (at 124 Market Place), and will be used from Friday-Sunday. This will be a smaller show without a barricade that will feature mostly hardcore and punk bands, and it will be scheduled in a way that should not conflict with anything going on at the former Sonar compound. All of the bands for this stage will be included in next week's announcement on October 9th.

The latest list of bands playing at this time is as follows: More...

Obituary Kicking Off North American Tour

The Florida death metal ministers in Obituary are set to kick off their first North American headlining tour in over three years this weekend. Brought to you by Rock The Nation and sponsored by Fender, the Carnival Of Death Tour 2012 will commence this Saturday in Orlando, Florida and tear its way through nearly two dozen cities. Further brutality will come from reunited death metallers Broken Hope as well as Decrepit Birth, Jungle Rot, and Encrust.

Obituary is also currently writing the follow up to the "Darkest Day" full-length, released in 2009 via Candlelight Records, with official details to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Carnival Of Death Tour marks Obituary’s first full North American tour run as a four-piece with death metal alumnus Terry Butler (Death, Six Feet Under, Massacre, Denial Fiend) on bass. For this trek, the band — vocalist John Tardy, drummer Donald Tardy, guitarist Trevor Peres and Butler — compiled a special fan-generated set list that will delve deep into the back catalog to include tunes predominantly off the group's first three full-lengths: "Slowly We Rot," "Cause Of Death," and "The End Complete."

Comments Donald Tardy: “We are super excited about the start of the Carnival Of Death Tour. It has been a long time since we toured extensively across the US and Canada. For the first time we went to our fans and asked their help in picking the songs for this ‘classic set’ and it really turned out to be a great set list. Most of these songs we have not played in over a decade and some of them we’ve never performed onstage so the anticipation is killing me! It's was quite the challenge to re-learn songs from 20 years ago but we are ready to blow our old fans away and hopefully gain some new ones. The scene has been set, the fans have selected the songs and the time has come to hit the road and kick off this Carnival.... send in the Clowns!” More...
