Black Tusk just released a new music video for the track "God's On Vacation," taken off latest album "Pillars Of Ash" and taking some cues from cannibal flick "The Green Inferno." Check out the (NSFW) video below.
New album "Pillars Of Ash" dropped January 29th via Relapse Records, and if you haven't heard it yet, the full disc is up for streaming after the jump.
This March, the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan will play host to the annual Berserker Music Fest.
Now in its third year, the event - a truly DIY affair founded and organized by Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight and wife Veronica - Berskerer III boasts its most devouring lineups to date with the all-ages three-night/three-stage gala.
Appearances will be made by internationally touring acts like Voivod, Ghoul, Conan, Macabre, Cannabis Corpse and Black Tusk as well as a spattering of new and established Michigan-based artists like Acid Witch, Child Bite, Perversion and Shit Life.
Comments Knight, "It's a fucking blast putting this thing together. Veronica and I pick all of the bands and organize the entire weekend. I handle all of the art and a lot of the promotion side too. It's a metric shit ton of work and it's really stressful, but in the end it's all worth it. We're basically just making something that we wish was already had; a bit of the ol' 'if you build it, they will come.' I spent a lot of time at various metal fests last year, either playing them with Child Bite or simply attending them. It's great to see what works, what doesn't, and just in general let it affect how we plan our next event. This is our biggest lineup yet, and our biggest venue, so I can't wait to see how it all turns out!"
Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, VGKids, ESP Printing, UHF Records, CJAM 99.1 FM and Woodward Avenue Brewers, Berserker III will take place on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th with a special FREE PreSerker kickoff party slated to take place at Small's (Hamtramck) on Wednesday, March 2nd featuring eight bands on two stages. After a trying year and the loss of brother and band mate Athon, Black Tusk will be honoring Athon's wishes and going on tour in Europe with Black Label Society. The band comments:
"It's been an incredibly trying time for us over the past month and we want to thank everyone for their support.
"We had confirmed the tour with Black Label Society and finished the new album before Athon's accident and Athon, specifically, had been very excited about the opportunity to tour with BLS and we feel there's no way he'd want things to end on this note.
"Corey Barhorst, formerly of Kylesa and currently of Niche, will be stepping in for Athon for the time being. All of us go back over 10 years and Corey seemed the natural choice to carry on for Athon."

Black Tusk bassist Jonathon Athon died earlier this month after being in a motorcylce crash, and the members of the band have now issued the following statement about setting up a memorial fund:
"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the overwhelming amount of support received in the past week.
"Many of you have been inquiring about Athon's medical bills and how you can help. As of now, they are covered. However, we would still like you to contribute if you can. Athon was a very giving person, and he thoroughly enjoyed helping others with his endless skill sets.
"Athon played a very large role in the renovation of fellow bassist and friend Jason Statts' home after he was paralyzed from a gunshot wound, and he regularly checked in on Jason to listen to music, grill out, or just provide company. Athon and his friend Keith Kozel worked together over the last decade every October to prepare the Jinx bar for their annual Halloween extravaganza.
"Keith was recently diagnosed with a degenerative kidney disease, and he is in dire need of a transplant. While Athon's medical expenses have been covered, his girlfriend Emily's have not. She has undergone surgery and faces a long road to recovery both physically and emotionally.
"So in the spirit of Jonathan Athon, we ask that you contribute to this fund that will split the proceeds among Emily, Keith, and Jason. Help Athon keep helping people. We have set up a PayPal at AthonFund@gmail.com if you care to donate. Thank you. TCBT forever."
Bassist Jonathan Athon from Black Tusk passed away this weekend after being in a motorcycle crash, and since then many bands from across the metal community have commented on how Athon impacted their lives.
Skeletonwitch shared this story about Black Tusk:
"Many years ago we left Ohio, bound for Savannah, GA, to tour with some new friends in a band called Black Tusk. In a now legendary move (that we will never let him forget) Andrew from Black Tusk booked the shows on the wrong calendar year! This resulted in about 5 days off in a row while things got sorted out.
"Andrew, James, and Athon rolled out the red carpet (and about 500 beers) and let us move in to 'Black Tusk Manor' for those 5 days. We've been family ever since.
"Yesterday we lost a brother. Athon, we miss you. We will carry your music and the many, many, memories with us forever. Our thoughts are with Andrew, James, Athon's family, and the entire creative community in Savannah, where Jonathan Athon will be sorely missed." More...

"His body will be cremated and a memorial is being planned for family and friends in Savannah. He was 32 years old and will be forever missed. Thank you all for your support during this devastating time for us, it would have made him proud."
