Below is our complete Black Tusk news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Following the release of the band's third LP, "The Apologist," New Jersey-based quintet East of the Wall has just confirmed a month-long tour of the country this March and into April.
Having already endured a rigorous self-booked trek of America in the Fall months, this second wave of touring in support of "The Apologist" will see East of the Wall laying down its oppressively technical wall of progressive metal dissonance alongside Black Tusk for the entire trek. Performances with Prong, Skeletonwitch, Royal Thunder, Intronaut, Gaza and more killer acts fuel the tour as well. A full list of confirmed dates is listed below, with more to be confirmed and added in the days ahead.
In support of "Set the Dial," Savannah Georgia's Black Tusk has lined up a slew of North American tour dates. This run will feature headlining tour dates with support coming from East of the Wall, label-mates Royal Thunder, and Hull, plus a string of dates supporting Prong and select shows with Intronaut and Skeletonwitch in March. The band hits the road February 4th starting in Durham, NC and runs through April 4th in Little Rock, AR.
In addition to the regular shows, Black Tusk will be taking part in the Scion Relapse Showcase in Hollywood, CA and three appearances at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin, TX. These appearances will all take place on March 14th seeing Black Tusk appear at the Pitchfork Showcase, Metal Sucks Showcase, and Converse Showcase.
Relapse Records has teamed up with Scion Audio / Visual for a special free label showcase at The Roxy in Hollywood, CA.
This one night only show will take place on February 11th and feature live performances from Relapse powerhouses Exhumed, Black Tusk, Revocation, Tombs, and Royal Thunder. Tickets are extremely limited and are only available via RSVP at this location.
The event will be professionally recorded by Scion and eventually released as a free full-length album with 3-4 tracks from each band. For detailed information on the show, including a preview of the show poster designed by Orion Landau (OBSCURA, REVOCATION) head to the official Scion A/V site here. \

The Metal Suckfest -- the 2-day, 20-band, MetalSucks-curated metal festival being held at NYC's Gramercy Theater on November 4th and 5th -- has made a last minute addition to its Day 1 roster: NYC pornogrind act Lake Bukkake will open the fest, prior to headliners Municipal Waste, God Forbid, Today is the Day, Howl, Black Tusk, and many more. Metalsucks commented:
"After months and months and months of negotiations — and by 'negotiations,' we mean 'us pestering and begging them constantly' — the group has FINALLY agreed to emerge from their shell to play the opening set on Day 1 of The Metal Suckfest, one week from today, Friday, November 4. The band will play both I Left My Heart…and 1996's Shut Up it’s Good for Your Complexion in their entirety. (The combined running time of both albums is less than fifteen minutes.)
"They also PROMISED us to debut at LEAST two songs from Chinese Bukkakacy, which they have, indeed, been working on for awhile (although apparently it may not be called that anymore — 'The idea seemed pretty funny in 2006, not so much anymore,' the band told us by e-mail)."
