Black Tusk Posts "In Days Of Woe" Video
Savannah, GA's Black Tusk will release new EP "Tend No Wounds" on July 23rd via Relapse Records. The EP was recorded with producer Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness) at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC. The artwork was created by Brian Mercer (Eyehategod, Lamb of God, Zoroaster).
Today the band has teamed up with Invisible Oranges and Brooklyn Vegan for a premiere of the video for "In Days of Woe." Check it out here or in the player below.
Black Tusk has also announced a handful of regional tour dates for this summer. They start July 24th in Augusta, GA and run through July 27th in Memphis, TN. Dates are available after the jump.

Black Tusk Reveals New EP Title
Savannah, GA's Black Tusk has completed recording an upcoming EP, which is scheduled to be released later this Spring via Relapse Records.
The EP was recorded with producer Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness) at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC. Today Black Tusk has revealed the EP's title as "Tend No Wounds." More information including artwork and track listing will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Black Tusk Finishes Recording EP
Savannah, GA's Black Tusk has completed recording the band's upcoming EP, which is scheduled to be released later this Spring via Relapse Records. The EP, recorded with producer Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness) at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC, will serve as a gateway between 2011's "Set The Dial" and the band's next full-length.
The band recently hit the road for a short run of headline dates, followed up by a month long run of shows with Today is the Day, KEN Mode, and Fight Amp then a two week run with Kvelertak and Cancer Bats. A complete list of dates can be found below.
Black Tusk is also scheduled to appear at this year's SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. Relapse Records Announces SXSW Showcase
Relapse Records has teamed up with Austin, TX’s music festival, Chaos in Tejas, to put together an unforgettable night of auditory madness at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.
The official showcase will feature a stage curated by each group and will take place at Red 7 on Saturday March 16th from 8 PM to 2 AM. The showcase will be free to all SXSW badge and wristband holders and open to the general public on a first come first serve basis. Further details on the showcase will be available via the Red 7 website shortly at this location.
The Relapse Records stage will be headlined by Savannah, GA’s sludge-rock warriors Black Tusk and feature sets from Relapse label-mates Royal Thunder, ASG, Howl, Inter Arma, and Call of the Void.
The Chaos In Tejas stage will be headlined by New Orleans bounce superstar Big Freedia and include performances from a diverse lineup including Antwon, Iron Lung, Power Trip, Merchandise, Parquet Courts and the Novice.
Kvelertak Announces North American Tour
Kvelertak has unveiled details of a major North American headline tour deemed, “Meir Tour – North America 2013.” The spring trek celebrates the Norwegian rock band’s Roadrunner Records debut, "Meir," and kicks off April 21st at Chicago’s Bottom Lounge. "Meir" arrives everywhere on March 26th.
The upcoming tour will see Kvelertak accompanied by a lineup that includes Cancer Bats and Black Tusk. A number of additional dates will be revealed in the coming days. Kvelertak is: Erlend Hjelvik (vocals), Vidar Landa (guitars), Bjarte Lund Rolland (guitars), Maciek Ofstad (guitars), Marvin Nygaard (bass), and Kjetil Gjermundrød (drums).

Black Tusk Working On New EP
Savannah, GA's Black Tusk has commenced work on new material for an upcoming EP, scheduled to be released later this Spring via Relapse Records. Drummer James May commented on the progress of the release:
"This new release is a mean one. It reminds me of a new twist on an old days Black Tusk sound. We got back together with Jay and Phillip Cope to turn this out with some of that earlier, brutal sound you might have heard back in the beginning albums. We figured it was about time to see what the old gang could do years later."
The band will be taking a break from the studio in March for a short run of headline dates, followed up by a run of shows with Today is the Day, KEN Mode and Fight Amp. Today Is The Day Announces North American Tour
Today is the Day will embark on a North American tour this March and April, and has unleashed the first wave of confirmed dates today.
The band's upcoming brutal voyage will begin in the Northeast and storm south across the country on the way to SXSW for this year’s official ToneDeaf Touring showcase alongside Orange Goblin, KEN Mode, Mondo Generator and more. After the festivities in Austin the outfit will continue a clockwise path of chaos up through the Northwest and Midwest U.S. and into Canada.
Support for Today Is The Day throughout most of the venture will be provided by Black Tusk, KEN Mode and Fight Amp. But Black Tusk will drop from the trek after a month on the road, and will be replaced by a special guest to be announced shortly.

Black Tusk Announces More Live Shows
In addition to a North American headline tour scheduled to begin this October, Savannah, Georgia's Black Tusk has announced three new headline dates. These dates are part of the release party weekend for the new split 7" that Black Tusk recorded with fellow Savannah metallers Dead Yet? The 7" is being released on Hyperrealist Records.

Black Tusk Gearing Up For North American Tour
Savannah, Georgia's Black Tusk is in the midst of the band's first ever European headline tour. The run will wrap up this week with a festival appearance in Tonsberg, Norway with an appearance at Slottsfjell Fest.
Black Tusk has now confirmed a string of North American headlining dates for this fall. The run kicks off October 13th in Johnson City, TN and is scheduled to wrap up October 24th in Portland, Oregon. The band is touring in support of latest release "Set The Dial," which is streaming in full at this location.

Black Tusk Announces Headlining Tour
Savannah, Georgia's Black Tusk has confirmed the group will be heading back to Europe this summer for a first ever European headlining tour. Support on the tour will come from Okkultokrati. The tour is scheduled to begin July 8th in Köln, Germany and run through July 20th in Tonsberg, Norway with an appearance at Slottsfjell Fest.
Black Tusk is currently on the road and will be joining back up with Municipal Waste's headlining tour, which will also feature special guests 3 Inches of Blood. Virginia's speed metal punks Municipal Waste are bringing their space terror back to North America beginning May 27th on a 2-leg headlining run presented by Scion A/V. The first leg features Black Tusk as support and the second leg features 3 Inches Of Blood as direct support with openers Black Tusk.

Savannah, Georgia road warriors Black Tusk have confirmed that they will be joining Down and Haarp on a string of shows this May. The dates kick off May 18th in Broussard, Louisiana and are scheduled to wrap up on May 25th in Memphis, TN.

Doom Rules Pitchfork.com's SXSW Day Party at ND
South By Southwest 2012 maintained its tradition of billing a long list of heavy bands from an assortment of styles. Attendees began pouring in from every corner of the globe on the previous Friday to experience the interactive and film portion of the city-wide festival. Traditionally, at least during the last few years, the music segment starts five days later on Wednesday. Even though I attended a free show at Emo’s East featuring High on Fire, our coverage begins with Wednesday’s usual sonic circus.
Torn between the Thrasher/Converse Death Match Day Party at Scoot Inn and Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy show at ND, I opted for the Pitchfork show. The Thrasher show included legendary hardcore punk acts Fear and Cro-Mags as well as Nachtmystium, but I chose the doomed tones of Rwake, Pallbearer and Pilgrim at the Pitchfork.com show. More...
