Holy Grail Signs With Nuclear Blast
Nuclear Blast Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Holy Grail:
"Hailing from Pasadena in Southern California, North American up-and-comers Holy Grail have offered a unique blend of traditional tunes in the vein of the legendary NWoBHM and influences of several contemporary heavy metal subgenres since their inception in 2008. Now, after numerous celebrated festival appearances (Wacken:Open:Air & British Download Festival among others) and extensive touring together with famous bands of the order of Blind Guardian, Exodus, and Eluveitie, the time is right to take this more than promising quintet to the next level. In that regard, Nuclear Blast Records are proud to announce the Europe-wide signing of Holy Grail!"
Nuclear Blast A&R Jaap Wagemaker comments: “Already after we’d listened to their debut EP 'Improper Burial,' it became pretty obvious that Holy Grail - offering a modern version of the old-school heavy metal we’ve grown up with - were the most exciting metal band to emerge from the county of L.A. within the last two decades, as renowned American Decibel magazine had put it. After Metal Hammer UK had nominated the band as 'best new band' at the Metal Hammer Awards even before they had even released their debut album 'Crisis in Utopia,' we knew we had to keep an eye on them. All over Europe, music magazines loved that record and celebrated it by publishing rave reviews. And ever since we’ve seen them playing two awesome shows at Wacken:Open:Air and British Download Festival, there was no doubt whatsoever that Holy Grail were bringing the leather and steel to a new generation of metal heads. So watch out for Holy Grail’s second coming in 2013!!!” More...

Holy Grail Finishes Recording New Album
Los Angeles-based act Holy Grail has finished recording sophomore album "Ride The Void" -- the follow-up to "Crisis In Utopia," named one of Revolver's Top 20 albums of 2010 -- which was tracked with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Children of Bodom) on and off throughout the year, working around national tours with Dragonforce and Valient Thorr. To celebrate the album's completion, the group will support Sebastian Bach at L.A.'s Club Nokia on Aug. 2nd.
Says vocalist James Paul Luna, "Album finished! You don't know how good those words feel! Day after day and month after month, we've been listening back, tweaking and fine-tuning this wretched beast of an album we call 'Ride The Void.' Finally, after many hours in the cave, we can gladly say it's done.
"To top it all off, I woke up to an e-mail saying we're opening for Sebastian Bach! WTF?! Sebastian is one of those rare dudes that was glam yet still kept it gritty and tough and that's what I'm all about. I think it's the Canadian in him that keeps him raw. Needless to say, we are thrilled to support a legendary voice such as his. And did I already mention the album is finished? Damn, still can't get over that! Shred on!"
More information about "Ride The Void" -- tentatively set for a late fall release -- will be revealed in the coming weeks.
