Aborted Confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal

Belgian deathgrind favourites Aborted are the latest band to be confirmed for the tenth edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise. The group will be playing two unique sets on the journey, one consisting of their latest album, "TerrorVision" in full and the other being a twenty fifth anniversary set, which is exclusive to 70000 Tons Of Metal. Metal Underground recently caught up with Aborted frontman Sven de Caluwé, which you can watch below.

This brings the number of bands up to seventeen, with sixty in total to perform. The ship will set sail to Cozumel, Mexico on January 7th and return to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 11th.

At The Gates And Cruachan Confirmed For 70000 Tons

The organisers of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise has confirmed a further two bands for next year's edition of the floating festival. Joining the already impressive lineup are Swedish death metal legends At The Gates, who will be performing a "Slaughter Of The Soul" anniversary set and Irish folk metal pioneers Cruachan, who in addition to performing the allotted two sets, will be performing a third in the on board pub.

This brings the number of bands up to sixteen, with sixty in total to perform. The ship will set sail to Cozumel, Mexico on January 7th and return to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 11th.

First Bands Confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal 2020

70000 Tons Of Metal - The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise - will set sail on January 7, 2020 as it journeys from Miami / Ft. Lauderdale to beautiful Cozumel and back.

Blastfest Offering Live Stream This Weekend

Last night saw the intimate launch of the third edition of Blastfest at Bergen Norway's infamous Garage, featuring excellent performances from each and every band including Chrome Division and Mistur.

Today the event moves on to a much larger venue, USF Verftet for the remainder of the festival which will host bands such as Gorgoroth, Ihsahn, Abbath and many more in 'A One Time Only Celebration Of The Norwegian Metal Scene'!

With such an amazing celebration, and yet so many people across the world not being able to attend, Blastfest are now coming to you via an online live stream! Although it's not the same as being in Bergen and experiencing the festival first hand, at least you can now experience a part of it.

Blastfest 2016 Finalizes Lineup

It's been months in the making, but the schedule for Blastfest 2016 is complete. Now in its third year, the Bergen festival has not only put together yet another incredible lineup, but also one in which will be a one-time-only celebration of the Norwegian scene.

A 100% Norwegian lineup, which includes the likes of Abbath, Arcturus, Taake, 1349, Gorgoroth and even some rare appearances from the likes of Green Carnation. Blastfest 2016 will be a truly memorable occasion, with chief and owner Yngve Christiansen comments:

"2016 will be a very special festival edition with a lineup consisting solely of Norwegian bands. On board at the last minute: Florida hardcore act Adaliah, Florida deathcore act Dark Sermon and Swiss groove act GurD and German thrashers Exumer.

70,000 Tons of Metal casts off tomorrow January 22, 2015 from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with a stop at Ocho Rios, Jamaica and returns on Monday, January 26, 2015. The festival boards a new vessel, Liberty of the Seas (via Royal Caribbean), which will accommodate four stages. The All-Star Jam band will be back this coming January, which features members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live. There will also be two hot tubs on the pool deck stage.
