Valkyrja Posts New Song Online
Swedish black metallers VALKYRJA have uploaded the second song, "Solstice In Withdrawl," off their new album "Contamination" on their MySpace page. "Contamination" was recorded at Necromorbus Studios (Deströyer 666, Watain) with Tore Stjerna at the helm. "Contamination" is the logical successor to the bands debut album "The Invocation Of Demise" (re-issued by Metal Blade Records in July 2009).
The band comments on "Contamination," “The two years which have passed since the ‘The Invocation of Demise' session has been a hectic period of composing, crafting and some line-up changes. During this last summer VALKYRJA manifested the second album. There were no doubts that we would return to Necromorbus Studio, again with Tore Stjerna as producer, and the outcome of this session formed an abominable weapon. January 2010 Metal Blade Records will unleash this dweller of the underworld – by far the strongest material thus far - namely Contamination, a mark of violent and dark Metal for the predator and beast of opposition within man.” More...

Valkyrja Signs To Metal Blade Records
Metal Blade recently announced the signing of Swedish black metal band VALKYRJA. The band formed in 2004 and released the five-track "Funeral Voices" in 2005.
The band went through some line-up changes over the years and recorded its debut album, "The Invocation Of Demise," at Necromorbus Studios (Watain, Deströyer 666, RAZOR OF OCCAM) in March and April of 2007. It was unleashed upon mankind in September of the same year via Northern Silence Productions.
By the end of 2008 VALKYRJA signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade Records.
Comments VALKYRJA: "The band sees the work with these allies as an opportunity to spread their crafts even further and on a larger scale. The Swedes have thus far already marked both studio and live performances with a brutal and aggressive signet, leaving no-one unaware of what the band can deliver. Territories stand not yet ravished by the plague and famine that is VALKYRJA, a fact this collaboration will change - a seal in Blood, Fire and Death."
In the beginning of 2009 the band is busy writing and rehearsing new songs for their second full-length. VALKYRJA plan to record at Necromorbus once again.
Metal Blade Records will re-issue "The Invocation Of Demise" in June 2009 with new artwork and booklet, giving the album the worldwide credit it deserves.
