Oceano Posts "Depths" DVD Teaser Trailer Online
Chicago based metallers Oceano are set to release their upcoming album "Depths" on April 7th. The album will also be packaged with a bonus DVD featuring live footage. The band has released a teaser trailer for the DVD which can be viewed below.
Oceano Films "District Of Misery" Video
Oceano, who recently topped the Myspace charts, has announced that they will be filming a music video for their song "District Of Misery" today in Los Angeles, California.
The video will see Oceano playing the song alongside a twisted photographic interpretation of each lyrical line as it is growled. The director's vision for the photographic concept is a compelling choice for a band who's image already relies on dark intensity. "Me (Patrick Guera) and my director of photography shot some more surrealistic stuff to accentuate the brutality." As for exactly what imagery will be used;", says Guera as the directorslyly hints at some of the specific imagery. "I use a lot of gnarled branches, some human props, I don't want to give too much away. The visuals will speak for themselves."
"The video is mostly based around Oceano's performance," says Guera, "they are really brutal so we are going to accentuate that in the way we shoot them, covering them from all angles, matching our movement to the change ups in the song."

Oceano Parts Ways With Guitarist
Chicago deathcore band OCEANO has parted ways with founding member and guitarist, Jeremy Caroll and plans to continue on with their upcoming tours as a 4-piece act. Vocalist, Adam Warren released this statement on the matter:
"As many of you may have, or have not noticed, our guitarist Jeremy was recently taken off the Oceano page. This is because as of this week, the decision was made to part ways with long time/original member.
"For those who seem to care, here is a summary of WHY this decision was made: (This is the FULL, NO BULLSHIT reasoning and explanation on this matter so PLEASE don't waste your time asking us about it.)
"Within our past few tours tension had seemingly grew above that of a typical level for a band touring the country cramped in a van. Over the past months certain members of the band we're beginning to really "butt heads" and clash with Jeremy on a personality level, to a point where tour was almost becoming more of a burden to deal with the stress levels and having to diffuse each others frustrations from this. Things apparently increased to the point of taking such action. Atop that, it was felt that coming from a professional level he did not represent the band well at times when it counted most. More...
Fight Breaks Out at Oceano Show; Video Available
Chicago deathcore metal band, OCEANO, are quickly gaining notoriety as the angriest band on the planet and now, it seems, their anger is starting to rub off onto their fans.
At the band's recent gig on December 10th at the Chenga 57 indoor skate park in Lorain, Ohio, the aptly-titled "Seasons Beatings" tour took a much more literal meaning. OCEANO got the crowd so worked up that a full-scale brawl erupted during the band's set, even forcing front-man ADAM WARREN to stop the band mid-song.
"Everyone was moshing and getting a little crazy - just like always;" says the former backyard wrestler. "There were these kids around the pit that kept getting hit and didn't like it too much, so they went after the kids who were hitting them. It kept going back and forth and more and more kids were getting involved each time." More...

Oceano Singer Discusses Backyard Wrestling Past
Chicago Deathcore heavyweights Oceano's reputation proceeds them, even before the release of their first album "Depths" (out on Earache records in March next year) the band are known as "The heaviest band on the planet" and have a reputation to "Bring the beef". Although both of these references are musical, it seems that in terms of Oceano front man Adam Warren these epithets could also refer to Adam's wrestling experiences.
"I got into backyard wrestling basically from watching wrestling on TV, and I was hanging out in the neighborhood and ran into other people into wrestling - and started trying out the moves - goofing off, messing around - then we kind of got serious about it, putting on shows and stuff, we were called the Chicago wrestling alliance - and it was violence, with a lot of weapons and pretty dangerous."
Backyard wrestling has always been controversial as its usually performed by untrained fans in an unsanctioned, non-professional environment. Described in the news as a "dangerous trend sweeping suburbia" Backyard wrestling has developed into an underground scene where films of antics and crazy stunts appear on youtube.
There are times however, when things can go wrong:
"Well we were having a match called a "death match" in someone's backyard in Chicago, and we had all these weapons like thumb tacks, scissors, fluorescent light bulb, mouse traps - over sized ones for rats - we had all this stuff on a tarp in the yard...We were just going on with the match and my opponent picked up the scissors and then cut me in the head, it meant to be choreographed, but it got a little out of hand and I ended up with the scissors stuck in my head - I was a good sport about it - I was told to get stitches but I didn't, I still have the scar - It was a crazy match hahaha"
In another incident: "I jumped off of a light tower once - like the ones they have for Baseball - I climbed up one of them in mid winter and jumped and twisted and landed on a pile of compacted ice - that was part of another match - it was like a dare - we planned it into the match - I was gonna flip off it but changed my mind and landed on my back - which messed my back up for a good while."
Adam started wrestling at school: "I basically wrestled at school doing the real thing through high school and a little bit of college, I was quite good I guess, I guess I'm quite an aggressive person in nature"
Adam no longer does Backyard wrestling and says that "A lot of wrestling is pretty predictable these days, I really like UFC now especially Brock Lesnar" When asked if he uses his wrestling moves in the pit at Oceano shows (which are known for being violent) he says "I don't use any of my moves in the pit, only if I get in a fight...although you never know"
Oceano's new album "Depths" is on on Earache records on 10th March 2009 in USA and 20th April 2009 UK and Europe. 2 songs from Oceano's upcoming CD "Depths" are available for streaming at the bands Myspace.

Oceano To Release New Album
Chicago's own Oceano have tapped Colin Marks to create the artwork for the band's upcoming debut album, Depths. Colin Marks is a London-based artist who's dark and gritty art style has made him the right man to provide the visuals for bands like Strapping Young Lad, Aborted and Whitechapel. His proficiency for creating striking works of symbolic art with a heavy twist made him the perfect choice to collaborate with the heaviest, most pissed off band on the planet. "We felt he was the
right guy," says Oceano guitarist, Andrew Mikhail. "Based on his work with Whitechapel and Aborted, we felt that he could represent' Depths' the way we envisioned it - dark and abstract. On top of everything, he's simply a great guy to work with."
Oceano's debut album, "Depths" will contain 13 tracks (15 in Japan) of the angriest deathcore cuts ever committed on record alongside a limited edition bonus DVD. "Depths" is due for release in 2009.
Oceano will be heading into the studio this October to record "Depths" with producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, My Children My Bride) at The Foundation Studios in Connersville, IN. More...
Oceano Banned From US Clubs Over Brutal Photos
Chicago, IL deathcore band, OCEANO have already had a set of raw and masochistic photos banned from MySpace and the band is now being banned from several clubs around the country, due in part to those very photos.

Here's an example: "It has been brought to our attention that there were some images of the band that were banned from myspace. Because we are an all ages, family friendly venue we pride ourselves on providing a positive atmosphere for the kids that come in to see shows. Unfortunately, because of those images and the lyrics to the songs we have found there is no way you guys will be able to meet those guidelines" More...
